Made it into Work
Today I managed to make it to work. I went in around 1pm, and worked until 5. I felt good. The woman I was working for today, Tiffany, is very nice and always tells me how much she appreciates my help. Don't get me wrong, everyone there is nice, but it's just nice to be told how much help you are giving, especially when you are not feeling well. I'm supposed to try and go in tomorrow, but that has to be after Geo gets his dad's car and we go shopping. I hope that we wake up early and get the car so I can go to work. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I felt good this morning. I took NyQuil last night and fell asleep fast and only woke up a couple times. I woke up in time to get to work by noon, but I decided to sleep in a bit more and relax. I had a good dream, too. I was a judge for a fashion and design reality TV show. I like those kinds of shows for their ideas, but I don't like the drama they create on the shows. It's just for ratings and I don't like that.
When we go shopping tomorrow, we have to get more cat food. We've been having this problem with little gnats everywhere, and I thought it was from the trash since that's where they always come from. Well, I opened the door from under the sink where we keep the dry cat food and there were tons of gnats there as I opened the doors. I picked up the bag of cat food and hundreds of those little suckers flew out. Somehow, water got into the cat food bag and the cat food was moldy and full of those little gnats. I only had about a quarter of a bag left, so it wasn't a lot to lose, but man do those gnats bother me. They are still flying all around, the ones that didn't get thrown out with the trash and the cat food, and I can't wait for them to all die so I can be left in peace. I'm sick and tired of them flying around and crawling on everything.
Today I learned even more of the process at work on how to make the referrals. I did the printing and faxing of a couple of people's referrals. Every thing I learn makes me more and more qualified to take the job that's going to (hopefully) open up when I'm ready. I just worry that with each passing day that goes by that they will see that they don't need an extra person there I don't want that to happen. I want them to be overloaded with work and need another person to come in and help them out. I hope by then I can be dependable. I feel on top of the world today, like I'm ready to work again, but I know it's not the end of the depression. I'm just having a good day. I need a bunch more of these before I get ready to go back to work.
I also got some good news today for Geo. I found a doctor that takes his insurance for the gastric bypass surgery. I need to call them tomorrow and find out a couple of things. The last doctor that he saw said that he wouldn't operate on someone who is more than 500 pounds, and Geo is 544 pounds. I need to see if this doctor has the same limits. I like that this new surgeon is closer to home and works with a good hospital. I just hope that they take the specific kind of Medicaid that Geo has and that they will operate on him. He's been trying to lose weight and has been unable to lose more than a couple pounds in the last 6 months. Hopefully he can get the surgery and lose the weight!
Mood today was okay... almost good. I felt good when Tiffany was telling me how much I helped her, and I appreciated that. But overall, the day was just okay. I'm still sick and battling a small cold, and have been coughing and sneezing all day. I felt good enough to make dinner without a problem and it came out good. I made stir fry chicken and veggies with rice.
Food today was bad... I was way under my calories. I didn't even make it to 1,000 calories today. I'm kinda hungry, but I have no more food to eat. I don't know what I'm going to do for breakfast in the morning since I don't like to go shopping on an empty stomach. Maybe Geo and I can pick up something to eat beforehand so I don't go overboard on the things that we don't need. We are going to a couple stores tomorrow since we need things from different stores. Our main grocery store now is Aldi, a German store that sells only generics for a really good price. Then there's the BJ's, a warehouse store like Costco where we get things in bulk. I also wanted to stop by Publix and get some spices and soups. All these stores, and I have to convince Geo to go to them all! I hope I can.
