Made appointment
I found evidence and will hold onto if I need it at some point. He had a pot pipe "hiding" under his bed. He's either becoming sloppy or arrogant. And I cannot believe he doesn't have any remorse for taking my husband's money. T-Man told me that he's not sorry because he said my husband told him that we'd buy him a grad gift and he hasn't received it yet. Yet. What a brat. I know his brain is distorted but i am having a hard time accepting this very, very strong sense of entitlement. I know it's the drugs. He used to be the most caring and thoughtful little boy. He loved giving gifts. Making them. Even though I have some resentment, I feel more pain and sadness for him. I wish we could do for him like we did a months ago when he was a child. When he was an adolescent - we could call the cops, have him arrested and get him the help he needed. Now - if he's arrested - jail. And how does that help? I know - in a way it does. But studies show that treatment works a lot better.
On a better note: making progress on the second portion of our program. I'm really liking it.
Also met with the communication director at our local adolescent drug treatment center. I contacted them and directed them to a very impressive website another treatment center has in my home state. So I was contacted and asked to meet with him. The treatment center wants to do a pilot program at my sons' former high school. I told him that that is great but leave my name out when emailing the Principal but told him to CC the asst. prin. and superintendent so that he'll have to respond. I told the director that the prin MIGHT be interested in this program if he knows I'm not behind it. Isn't that pathetic? Whatever works. The program is about having an early intervention counselor to assess students with parent's permission. It would certainly help the school deal with this.
