LYRICS/PHOTO of madonna '85 wow!: If god was one of us" sung by joan osbourne

trends.  remember when "everyone" looked like this.  lol.  or if everyone didn't, the one who did, it was like loooook and then sooooo cool!  lol.  sooooo fun too!

Madonna:

A pair of fingerless, lace gloves back in the 1980s. The layering, hair bows, large crosses and leggings - all cool - over 25 years ago, and she had teenage girls from L.A. to Scranton mocking her and then copying her."

"If God had a name what would it be? And would you call it to  His face? If you were faced with Him in all His glory What would you ask  if you had just one question?
And yeah, yeah God is great Yeah, yeah God is good Yeah,  yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Trying to make His way home
If God had a face what would it look like? And would you  want to see? If seeing meant that you would have to believe In things like Heaven and in Jesus and the Saints And all the Prophets
And yeah, yeah God is great Yeah, yeah God is good Yeah,  yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Trying to make His way home
Tryin' to make His way home Back up to Heaven all alone Nobody callin' on the phone 'Cept for the Pope maybe in Rome
Yeah, yeah God is great Yeah, yeah God is good Yeah,  yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us Just a stranger on the bus Trying to make His way home
Just tryin' to make His way home Like a holy rolling  stone Back up to Heaven all alone Just tryin' to make His way home
Nobody callin' on the phone 'Cept for the Pope maybe in  Rome."

wonder what madonna thinks when she sees photos like that. i was looking for a blonde model from miami who co-hosted with harry smith on the early show briefly, they fought and she went onto other things. i couldn\'t remember her name. then i found this blog with old photos. what a piss.

its freezing outside. around 63 degrees. not ready for winter at all. brrrrrr. still sniffling a bit too. back on statins because of having brain surges AGAIN. so grumpy all day. i hope statins aren\'t permanent. and a little naucseous from eating too much sushi. they had rainbow roll on sale - but more than five is usually too much.

I hope that the statins aren\'t permanent. You mean surgery or surges? Hope the nausea is gone, sounds like it may be due to it from the sushi?
I remember Madonna\'s early days, that Joan Osbourne song too. I used to watch The Early Show and don\'t recall the blonde model, but I do remember Harry.

HUGS to you

You mean brain surges? I was up late last night, when I commented on this.
HUGS for you, hope you are feeling better today and that you wont have to take that statin too long.

unfortunately its brain surges, - pressure on the brain from the cholesterol blocking the arteries. its dangerous. the statin help a lot and so does aspirin. its hell to be old. my plan is to not take it all the time once the cholesterol level is way down. a lot of people do that. my doctor recommends drinking more alcohol (he is serious. lol.) 3 drinks per day, preferably shots, or with diet soda, or water, no sugar nor sugar substitute, i think bourban and orange juice is probably healthiest. or an l.a. cocktail, love those - but no sweet and sour, as a mixer it\'d have to be orange and lemon i guess. have the heat all the way up, either allergy or cold, its cold out. yuck!

I remember when you wrote the journal about your doctor and his alcohol suggestion! LOL....I know lots of people who loved hearing that. Being married to a recovering alcoholic (13 years PTL)....I can tell you, that...believe it or not, his liver, kidneys, cholesterol, blood pressure and everything else are just fine after 20 years of non-stop drinking. My hubby tells me, that when an alcoholic (this is in his experience, only) stops drinking...they usually die of something else within three years. Usually cancer. And sure enough. My hubby got lung cancer. I think all the alcohol somehow protects the system by killing off bad stuff.

I ain\'t sayin I agree with your doctor....just sayin......!

the blue zones, are places where people live to be 100 and that is the \"average\" age for death etc.....allllll of those cultures drink alcohol daily and before we had purified water of any sort....alllll people drank alcohol daily....most medicines have alcohol in it as does mouth wash....i never realized alcohol was important for anything besides digestion. i knew white wine with a meal is de rigour since i was a kid, but that is allll, i knew alllll sauces taste best with wine in them, especially if the wine is boiled down into a rew (spelling is wrong) and added to a sauce.
