Lyrica... Meh.

I had hoped I'd get a great result from Lyrica. I'm not getting a great result. The only result I get is constipation, edema, and feelings of insane sugar cravings.  That does not help me lose weight or feel more control of my body. I ache more in my feet, my shoulders. I really would like to know how long to keep taking it before I say forget this crap.
I feel like I deserve a pain medication for flare days and not the lowest dosage, but the dosage that works. That is the problem I have. I don't think that the rheumatologist I saw was the best one for me. He seemed to dismiss my pain or my need for a pain medication that was not within this list.  Perhaps I've always been given too light of dosages?  My tolerance is too high?  I don't know. I only know that Gabapentin did nothing for me. Lyrica is doing nothing for me. Tramadol in the dosage I was given did nothing for me. What is wrong with my body chemistry that these meds do not help me?
Even tonight I have the munchies. I need to find something even if it's 10pm.

It is not uncommon for pain meds not to work for people with fibro. Have thought about a natural path. I have found for me diet, exercise, vitamin supplements to really help. It wasn\'t a quick fix but my pain levels are better. I also have Salonspa patched and gel to really take the edge off. I smell like wintergreen but it is worth it. I realize a pill is easier and lifestyle changes appear difficult but over the long haul your body might respond more positively then to the medications. My body took medications away from me due to allergies and now I am so grateful that it did. I like how my body feels on gluten free primarily dairy free diet. I hope you find something that works for you.

Did you try Amytrip or Nortriptalins? that is the first thing you should try with a fibro dx. Lyrica and Neurontin made me dizzy, gain wait and sick. Fibro doesn\'t affect the blood tests your mentioned earlier. Good luck to you.
