Lyme disease? My dog is really ill

My 6 year old dog is barely walking or eating. Preliminary vet visit found something wrong with shoulder and or neck.  He yelps when he moves them. We have tested for Lyme disease. I DID pull a tick off of him in the fall. Waiting for the blood test results. If not that we have to see a dog neurologist. It might be a disk or other similar problem. It is so hard to see him this way and because of the divorce I have NO extra money right now and I cannot even use my credit cards because I am in the middle of a "not sure we will give it to you" re-finance. all the cashout out in the re-fi goes to buy out my stbx's share of the house. I am SO worried and frustrated. I HOPE it is Lyme disease because from what I've read and been told, it can be treated with a long session of anti-biotics. Anything else would be more invasive and cost so much more. Anyone ever hear about any pet or person with Lyme disease? Wish us luck.
