Lupus & Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diabetes all 3 at once
Hi, I am new to this site & I am in need of help. I have been diagnosed with 1st, Diabetes type 2, then doc. did more blood tests & exams & Rhuematoid Arthritis was diagnosed, after 2 months he told me I have Lupus -- Mixed connective tissue disorder. I am now chair bound & full of pain, Fatigue, and Depression I am 64 years old with a lot of life to go. does anyone else have this combo?? I am on lots of meds now but pain & fatigue are worst. Diabetes 2 Is under control with Ac1 at 6 right now.

I do not have your combo; I was diagnosed with RA in june of \'08. I see you are on 4000 mg of Sulfasalazine (twice as much as me) but no other RA meds other than the prednisone. What I have been told by my rheumy is that Sulfasalazine is good, but it is also best when used in combination (I see you tried Methotrexate but it did not work for you).
Are you seeing a rheumatologist (rheumy)? Are you taking anything for pain? Also, it might be helpful to see a physical medicine/ physical therapist for pain relief methods.
So sorry you are struggling so much. Hopefully it is only a phase that has to pass.

HI DONNA WELCOME,I WAS DX WITH LUPUS(SLE),R/A AND DEPRESSION IN 2005.I DON\'T HAVE DIABETES BUT I DO TAKE MEDS FOR IT AS A PRECAUTION BECAUSE I HAD A 2yr old DAUGHTER THAT PASSED AWAY FROM DIABETES,SOMY DR. DON\'T WANT TO TAKE CHANCES.I NEVER TRIED THE SULFA MEDS,BUT I GET THE METHO SHOT ONCE A WEEK ITS OK (IT THINNED MY HAIR OUT REALLY BAD).I TAKE 13 MEDS A DAY,FROM PREDNISONE(GAINED 125 pds)I WENT FROM 170 TO 296,TO MORPHINE.FOR PAIN I TAKE LYRICA,OXYCODONE,ULTRAM ER AND MORPHINE EVERYDAY AND I STILL BE IN PAIN.I JUST STARTED PHYSICAL THERAPY 3wks ago,ITS VERY PAINFUL AND I\'M ONLY GETTING MASSAGES RIGHT NOW,SO THEY WENT UP OM THE MORPHINE TO 60mg SO I WILL BE COMFORTABLY I DON\'T ANYTHNG IS GONNA TAKE OUR PAIN AWAY,I WAS CHAIR BOUND ALSO MY PROMBLEM NOW IS WALKING MY BACK GIVES OUT COMPLETELY I CAN\'T WALK FROM MY BEDROOM TO THE KITCHEN WITHOUT MY BACK GIVING OUT.WE ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING DONNA I NO EXACTLEY HOW YOU FEEL,WE CAN GET THROUGH,FEEL BETTER DONNA MY NAME IS CARLA
