Lupus Confusion

Well I had my 2nd accupuncture treatment today for my back problem. I never would have believed in this practice yrs back but I would swear by it now. The dr also gave me this electric pulse treatment also. It's just these little disc things that he places on the spots in question. They're hooked up to a machine that he then turns on to various strengths to send small electric pulses. I'm positive that definite progress has been made. I'll follow with a massage therapy appt next wk & will be almost as good as new (note I say almost).

But I still can't help but wonder if going back off the methotrexate had a hand in this improved wellness. Sure will have to have words with my rheumy abt this in November.

But thats the thing with Lupus - it throws you these curve balls & it still leaves me shaking my head. I wonder if I'll ever learn to take it all in stride. I'm very thankful that when I was 1st diagnosed my hubby did some reading on it & we went to a small workshop & he's always been open minded cause it makes it alot easier to handle.

I\'m glad the accupuncture is working on you. I had it done a long time ago. It did help a bit. Anything is better than none. Now Massage. oh boy did that work on me. I had a massage every week for 3 months and then every other week. My movement was pain free or close to it. LOL
I was never put on the Methotrexate or I should say I refused to go on it. Heard too many things about it. I\'m on Prednisone and Plaquinel. And I\'m happy. My Lupus is in remission and I\'m happy about that. Now for the Fibromyalgia...another story.
I\'m so glad your hubby is behind you and gives you the support you need. You definately need to be open minded when it comes to Lupus.
Keep up the good work. Thinking of you.
Hugs Nancy

that is so exciting!!!! I love acupuncture too. I never took to the elec. pulses, but the needles worked wonders for me. the herbs did too. I still wonder about my lupus and the meds and the whole ball of wax. I\'m still pretty anti-med, but I find for me, it may be the only way. sigh. I still think acupuncture got me over that bad hump. I\'m thrilled for you.
