Lufthansa Technik wins CAAC approval for Boeing 737-700s and 737-800s maintenance work in Hamburg
5 April, 2018: Lufthansa Technik AG has received approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for Hamburg site as a maintenance organisation for Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. This means additional order potential for the VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services division, since the very popular Boeing Business Jets are based on these aircraft types.
With this CAAC approval, both BBJs (Boeing 737-700) and BBJ2s (737-800) can be looked after in Hamburg in the future, from simple maintenance tasks to aircraft modification and all the way to major overhauls.
"CAAC approval for these important aircraft types opens up new possibilities for providing maintenance support for the BBJs of Chinese customers that we equip in our completion center," says Jan Grube, Lufthansa Technik Head of Asia Sales VIP. "We are proud that the CAAC is honoring our many years of experience in the support of VIP and special mission aircraft with this approval."
