Luckiest guy to live

I don't know what I did to deserve this amazing life I now have but it just happens day by day as long as I call my sponsor daily and go to meetings regularly aswell as my 12 step work. Knowing I haven't drank for nearly 7 months with the help and support of my friends, family, sponsor and members of AA I wonder what I did to deserve all of this because I definitely wasn't the nicest person when I was drinking. I can't even put into words how great full I still am for what these people have done for me.

Me and my mum were talking about me drinking yesterday and she told me she was very close to asking me to leave and hearing little things like that every now and then remind me how bad things were.

My advice to anyone who wants to be happy is try a few different AA meetings, get a sponsor and do the 12 steps, once you finish step 12 if you're still not happy then no one will stop you having a drink again if that's what you chose. All I'm saying is give it one try and get through the steps just once and then have just one moment and think which life would you prefer. I'm not saying everyday will be a walk in the park but it will be a lot better than it was. You'll be able to enjoy life once again, I give you my word!!
