Lucidity at Last
I might possibly have the best roommate* in the world. He can be a pain sometimes because he's pretty much anti-OCD (never puts things away in the same spot twice) and pretty messy, but he gave me a wonderful two hour massage on my massage table last night. I have a concert this afternoon and I was seriously doubting that I could play in it. I was extremely lightheaded yesterday with lots of numbess in both hands and shaking in the right hand. Today is going quite a bit better. I had a great sleep last night and my muscles aren't sore this morning! My bones still ache and my right shoulder doesn't want to be a part of the rest of my body, but I'll sweet talk it back into place. I'm really glad I joined this website. lanafairy81 told me about something she has called neurofibromatosis, which is just another possibility for me to check out. After my MRI showed that I didn't have MS, it's like my case got closed and I haven't heard from my doctors about what to do next. So I've been reading up about neurofibromatosis, and it looks I would have type 2 because I most definitely have random hearing loss. I have excellent hearing, above average for sure, but every once in a while, my left ear gets tinnitus that lasts a few seconds and fades into deafness. Within the last year, I've been having tinnitus in my right ear as well that will last a few minutes and then go away, and none of this is triggered by loud noises. Another main symptom of the type 2 that I have is loss of balance while my symptoms are around. Last fall, I would just start falling over like a tree, and I would jokingly say "timber!" For some reason I knew I was falling but I couldn't correct myself. Normally, I have great balance, so that's why this concerned me so much. I would do something simple like stand up from sitting on a chair and fall over. Or, I would walk down my hallway and just crash into the wall. Not like I walked much anyway. My legs were sometimes too weak to stand. I've actually been having some troubles recently with a shooting pain at the base of my spine and I can't isolate it to a certain movement. It just happens. And if I'm standing, there better be something for me to hold onto when it happens! Well the pain in my back is a nuissance and so is all this weird business in my body but it's just happened so much that I know how to live with it now. Fingers crossed for this concert and all the other ones coming up! At least my brain is functioning better today. I'll probably have no problem finishing my final theory assignment today (just in case I can't work on it tomorrow). *Gay roommate. I love my bf and would never let another straight man touch my back.
