Low-quality content just isn’t going to cut it
Keyword stuffing occurs when too many variations of the same phrase are shoehorned to fit into important ranking factors, such as URLs, meta titles and descriptions, image alt text and body copy. This practice can significantly impair the user experience as the website is sculpted solely for search engines and not real people. How relevant is your product page or category page to the search term? This is a huge ranking factor that’s often neglected. Stick to keywords that your products would genuinely satisfy. You’re not foolin’ Google. Google isconstantly evolving to better understand the context and intent of user behaviour. Take a look at which sites are currently winning the front page for the phrase you are hoping to win. Then, go ahead and link to a few of them within your own content. It can be within the body of the text, or you can include a few links at the bottom with a “More on This Subject” type of call to action (CTA). It may seem like this could lead eyes to a direct competitor, but don’t be afraid to break the mold and link to them anyway. It is advisable to check regularly on your website’s rank and positions in the SERPs in order to assess whether your SEO measures are having an effect. But because there are also many factors which you cannot influence, you should not get too stressed by rankings. It is perfectly normal if your website sometimes jumps 1-5 places. But if you manage to get your site 10, 20, or 30 places higher, you should be proud of yourself.
The basics of Website Optimization
Now's the time for any local business to raise its game. Find out which keywords and phrases people frequently search for as well as what is trending. A look at what the competition is using could also help you. Do not try to avoid no-follow links completely. These links may have value in improving your search rank. As you know, back in the day we could build 10,000 forum profile links with exact match anchor text and rank in a few days. Unfortunately many SEOs have not changed their game to keep up with Google changes. Now 80% of your links should be brand/URL links, 10% KW links, and the other 10% long tail/nonsense KWs. Also, if you're just starting out, build less than 50 links a day. Content quality, content amount, and website information are all factors in your Page Quality Rating.
Broken links
when writing for the internet, break up your paragraphs as often as possible. Lots of white space makes reading text on mobile phones a heck of a lot easier (more than half of most websites’ traffic comes from mobile), and clearly formatted articles are used as a Google ranking signal. Create profiles for your business (and include a link to your website) on major directory sites such as Google My Business, Yelp, Angie’s List, Yellow Pages, and other listing resources associated with your industry. Think about SEO from the perspective of the minds behind Google. Through deep learning, the goals of the developers behind Google is to generate search results that genuinely benefit the user. One way to approach SEO is to write catchy headlines. Typically, people visit Google to help them solve a problem or they’re looking for a specific product. As businesses succeed, new avenues of revenue open up and therefore new areas of the website need to be created and optimised.
Understand Google’s Ranking Algorithm
Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Website owners all want their content to be placed at the top of page one of search results. This is because very few website searches ever go beyond page one of results." Most people can make a short (or long) list of keywords that might be used to find their own site. But ask other people these questions and write down their keyword suggestions, too. Doing so will help you go beyond the jargon words that only you and insiders know. Google’s mission is to organize the worlds’ information and make it universally accessible and useful. Therefore, Google wants to show a user the best result possible, the result that best fits their search query. Content Marketing involves creating and sharing content online such as blogs, videos, or social posts to create interest around your brand and business. While the way you craft your content and the copy of your website obviously have an affect on your SEO, it’s important not to forget about the quality and whether people will actually want to read/ watch what you have to offer. Catering your search engine optimization strategy efforts only to the Google algorithm will probably lower your search results. At the same time, focusing only on the users will ignore some of Google’s page rank algorithm which will keep your page from ranking as well as it could.
Does more traffic directly imply more revenue?
Ideally, if you’re running your own small business, doing your own writing establishes you as the authority. Everyone likes to deal with the owner, and this provides a way to establish many relationships with customers simply through generating your own content. If you are a local business, register with trusted local directories. By submitting your company to business directories (especially the free directories) you cannot expect to be flooded with high quality traffic and transform your website into a high-converting lead generation machine. What you should be expecting though, is getting some extra local traffic boost and an improvement in your search engine placements. Search engines aren't good at completing online forms (such as a login), and thus any content contained behind them may remain hidden. Is your product / service trending and generate searches in the new market(s) you want to go to? Do a keyword research around the main terms for your business in the local language using Google Keyword Planner and analyse the main ones in Google trends. While theworldwide average is two words per search phrase, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia all show that searchers prefer the use of three- or four-word terms.
Low-quality content just isn’t going to cut it
When you’re browsing the web, the content you come across can come in a number of different flavors. Often, the nature of the content can tell you a little about the owner of the blog/website too. Either this is a website belonging to someone who is mostly interested in their visitors and who doesn’t care whether they ‘rank’ or not; or it’s content that is clearly aimed at Google, with the visitors as an afterthought. Mobile traffic is important. People are searching and reading on their mobile devices more than ever. What does that mean for your copy? Do you need to write differently if you’re aiming at a ‘mobile’ audience? How do you tackle copywriting for mobile? People spend very little time engaging with content. Within the space of 3 years, it has become significantly easier to find businesses, stores or items nearby, creating a shift in user’s intent and search behavior. Users no longer have to include their location in search queries, such as inputting “coffee shops in Queens” into Google. An internal link connects one page of a website to a different page on the same website. In an internal link, the source domain and target domain are the same. Strategic internal linking is an SEO power technique, especially for content marketing.
