Love Is What's Exciting
It's common to hear someone bragging about his or even her sex life and the number of partners they've had. Even my own, wife, Brenda, does something similar to bragging, I think. It is bragging in a manner of speaking, almost but not quite overtly: she mentions men she went out with when she was unmarried, old boyfriends too, when we're with other people; after all, no one wants to be known as "wallflower;" letting it be known that you've had lots of attention impresses most people. It lets others think that you're goddamn exciting in bed and worth paying attention to.
Unfortunately I guess for me, I've always found love is an aphrodisiac. The most exciting sex I've ever had was with a beloved. I'm not sayiing that when the beloved knew what to do to make it exciting that the sex wasn't better. I mean sex can be boring and less exciting when it's only skin deep. I remember when a woman I loved and who loved me called my name out during lovemaking.
I can still hear her voice.
It's also true, however, that one can become jaded.
