Lost With No Boundaries

How can you have boundaries or filters when you are lost. Just a statement not a question.
Depression is draining and mania is productive.  It's scary to me and to family members. Although I wish it wouldn't be so. My moods are still all over the place after 6 months. Better, but not fixed. I lost my job and don't have many friends. I don't know what to talk about with others since my life is mostly in the house. I feel embarrassed and ashamed. I get better eventually but it is taking longer each time and it just keeps on happening. I'm tired of thinking about what is the "correct" thing to say since I just crave to connect and not scare anybody away. I don't want to hide the illness either as it just takes too much work. I am still me, but it's confusing. When you need help it is hard to have a family member say, You need to filter your words and have some boundaries. They want their own life. I guess it is partially true.
However, when you were the one to give them life is it not fair to ask help from your family too.
