Lost About My Loss

Well, this certainly hasn't turned out the way I thought it would. My below the knee amputation has completely isolated me from the rest of the world.Just showering is a terrifying experience.  I don't even know how to cleanse my private area in the shower because I'm sitting on it.  I'm a very large girl and cannot balance on one leg at all.  I bathe the rest of my body, then transfer to the toilet to clean the rest of me.  I know there has to be a trick to it, but I can't figure it out.  Any suggestions? This may seem like a strange way to start a journal, but it is the most important thing to me right now. Then there is my sleeping problems.  I sent my hospital bed back because I wanted my own bed back home (it was in storage for a couple of months).  I got so used to sleeping in a reclining position that now when I sleep on my flat bed, my back has completely locked up by the time I wake up.  I'm in so much pain. I'm determined to overcome these obstacles.  Please, if anyone out there has any suggestions about these problems -- contact me right away. Thank you so much.
