Lost 5.4 kilos or 10 pounds already

It's only been 9 days, that I was diagnosed with diabetes&already lost at least 4 pounds of water& 6 pounds of fat.Who would have known that being diabeticwould make me lose weight so quickly.I feel much better, now that I know what the problem was all these years.Since one year post treatment, I've been going through an inventory of my health.&My doctor tells me now, that I noticed that I had signs of diabetes, that he had no checked me for that in almost 3 years.DuhLike this whole time, here I am sick all the time.No strenght, weak, tired, fatigue, dizzy, thirsty, and now that it was so obvious to me that it was indeed diabetes,I asked him for a blood test requisitiononly to find out that my blood levelis over the roof. Here in Canada, the normal blood level is, betwen 4 & 6.My fasting test was at 19,2Imagine, I have been walking around with a high sugar level for years now.No bloody wonder I was so sick.Since a few months ago, I had been praying to God,to help me lose weight. So I started drinking water like it was going out of style, so that's when I realised, I must be diabetic. Now I am on 2 pills a day, and have to check my blood at least 4 times a day.Until I get used to what makes it high, in order to maintain a normal level. As of yesterday, I am in the range of 8 - 9which is good for a person who as been over 15 - 20 for years now.On July 1st, I need to go see him again, will take a new fasting test, one week before, this is when we will decide if I stay on 2 pills a dayor go on insulin. But, but butI am not going on insulin, no bloody way.If I stay on this strict diet,  &exercise every day, like I've been doing since diagnosed.I will be able to maintain the normal level.I can even reverse it, at one point,If it is possible for someone without a gall bladder.Since I no longer have mine.So this is a question I need to ask.Type 2 diabetes is reversable.Thank God.By the way, Just to show you, God has answered my prayers one more time.He does Work IN Mysterious Ways.Bless you all, friends.& Thank you to all who are there for me in this new questto kill this Demon. ThanksMckenzieone day at the time.xo

My husbands side of the family had diabetes real bad. When My daughter was born She weighed 9 pounds 4 oz. Yhey checked her for that. When she is pregant she always had gestational diabetes. Your pancrates doesnt do what it is meant to do . With you eating right and taking meds you will lose weight.. Your mental fog will disapear,. mY husband had to retire because of it, he couldnt walk two feet without being in pain. Good luck to you. Did you have your daughter tested?

McKenzie....
I wish you best wishes and you can do it.
Diabetis is truly becomming an epidemic, as our eating habits and fast food era over the past almost 50 years are horrible, and as an an adult sometimes over the years, and I\'m not saying anyones old, so I want to make that clear, our pancrease, what they call in layman\'s terms, becomes lazy and stops producing insulin.
I have to take insulin 3 x a day, and with 2 kinds of insulin, but I have pancreatitis, so therefore my pancrease is damaged and with the help of insulin which the pancrease makes it keeps mine from doing just an adequate job. In your case even though your levels are high with diat and exercise you\'ll be just fine, and those two pills a day will help you maintain a proper level as your pancrease get\'s used to being normal and doing what it\'s supose to.
SO....I know your a trouper, and you help so many people that I want you to help McKenzie too, OK ?
Just my little insight, for what it\'s worth.
Love Ya\',

Losing weight was how my hubby found out he had diabetes. Now he is on 2 pills daily, plus 1 he calls the \"hell pill\" for when his sugar creeps up real high.

We have found the absolutely best thing to lower his sugar is exercise.....it pretty much the miracle drug.

I hope and pray the very best for you.

What are the pills that you are taking. There is a chart in the book, Prescription for Nutritional Healing, that says what each kind does, and some comments, if you\'re interested.

So glad you are doing so well. I was diagnosed a year ago and definitely did not want to go on shots so I watched what I ate real close. I got my blood sugar down so low that my dr said I was no longer considered a diabetic. You can do it too. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about the diagnoses but glad you finally know. And yes type 2 is reversible and it sounds like you\'re on your way to doing that. You\'ll be surprised that with the weight loss you should be able to stop all meds. Good luck with that honey. I know that weight lose is a struggle. Well at least for me it is. Hoping you kick the diabetes butt!!! Hugs

Day # 13 of being diagnosed, this morning my sugar level was at 7.

I\'m almost there, the normal range here in Canada, is between 4 - 6.

So I\'m getting there, and losing weight at the same time, this is a true Godsend.

Love you all, and Thank you for your encouragement.

I\'m also so glad you were finally diagnosed and amazed that doc missed it and you were able to funtion so well while so sick w/this bad illness.

I hope your next tests shows you are doing great and no insulin suggested. As I said before my husband has been borderline for years but is constantly dieting - needs recheck but gave up trying to make that man go to doc...why are they so stubborn about that - at least mine is anyway.

That is great about possible reversible I didn\'t know that - fingers/toes and prayers that this happens to you....it would be a mirical and you probably wouldn\'t know what to do w/yourself if you were actually well again.....

Loved talking to you at Tatt\'s other night but I\'m sure you were overwhelmed hearing us all talk at once.....your accent is so beautiful....

Keep us posted on progress ... my warrior woman can handle this challenge like the tx I know...plus after being sick w/this so long you now have clue what to do to help....xoxo

So glad to hear that you are handling this -a nd the bonus of loosing weight is really excellent. No wonder you were happy drinking water all day (that would be a real pest for me!) Hope you will never have to use injections - as you say - no bloody way! (which makes you sound like an Aussie!) Keep of the carbs., ma cherie! JaneD.

So far, after only 2 weeks of changing my whole lifestyle on how I live and eat, I have been able to keep my sugar down 9, which is not too too bad, some diabetic people told me it would take a month or so, to get it down to the normal range, which is between 4 - 6, so hopefully I will be able to get down sooner than later. Tuesday I have to go in and get my glucose blood test done, and see my PCP on the 1st to discuss what we will do regarding the medication I will be taking for the next few months.
Sammy is going in for a ultrasound to check her kidneys, wish her luck on that. When born, Sammy had problems with her kidneys, and we suspect that some of her health problems might be related to her kidneys, so I will keep you posted on her situation as well.
Love Mckenzie one day at the time.

Glad to hear your sugar is dropping. Exercise can really help. Dieting can be so hard but if you burn off the calories with exercise then you get to eat more.
I found that controlling myself at the store works best. If it\'s not in my house then I can\'t eat it. I might open the fridge ten times looking for a snack to appear suddenly, but it never does. So eventually I\'ll eat something healthier.
I wish you the best!
