Loss of a great Friend
I have known Helen for probably 50 years or longer. I went to school with her middle son, her husband was a bus driver for the school. Her husband passed away about 6 years ago and she has been in a nursing home about 8 years. I have visited her every Monday now for over 3 years at the nursing home. I have visited her in the hospital, went to the ER with her, over the past 6 months, off and on. Her health has gradually deteriorated the past 3 months.
I was at the hospital this morning, met her son and his wife, as the Doctor examined her and gave us his findings. She was not responsive, and the prognosis was not good.
Helen went to be with the Lord, at 7:30pm this evening. Her son called me and I have been asked to preach her funeral. It will be an honor to do so but, it will also be tough for me. She was quite a woman and a wonderful mother. I am blessed to have known her all these years.
