Loss of a DS Friend

"This is Megan King and Kaitlyn King and we are posting this on behalf of our mother, Kimberly. Unfortunately, Kimberly passed away on Wednesday of last week. She was taken from this world far too soon and unexpectedly. We will be hosting a memorial service at my mothers house this Saturday, 11/14 from 11:00-6:00. We know that our mother meant a lot to so many people and we want to give everyone the opportunity to come and pay their respects to her. With that being said, we want to do this as safely as possible given the current state of the world. We ask that there are no more than 5 people in the house at a time and while in the house we ask that you wear a mask or face covering. We will have plenty of outdoor seating if anyone wishes to stick around and to grab a bite to eat or socialize. Since our home will be open for most of the day we hope that everyone will not show up at once and we hope this will give most people the opportunity to join us if they wish to do so. If you’re unsure of where our mothers house is located please reach out to one of us . We hope to see some friendly faces and we look forward to reminiscing the good memories everyone shared with our mother."

 

I was totally shocked and very distressed! Kim was doing great and we kept in fairly close touch via FB and email. I even had the great good pleasure of spending some in-person time with her when I still lived in Florida. Kim was nearing retirement age and had a plan in place to sell her home to downsize and was seriously thinking about relocating to Florida. Ugh! Just goes to show, we NEVER know what's around the next corner. Still shaking my head about this...just to much of a shock to come to terms with it at the moment.
