I am down almost 8 lbs. My weight is something maybe I can control and every day that I do good at my diet makes me feel like I still have a little bit of control in at least one area of my life!
So my son has not called me since I wrote him the very harsh letter telling him that without treatment for him he would just be wasting his families time.... I guess he did not want to hear the truth.... I needed to know if he was serious about getting help and I guess I got my answer.....
You don\'t know yet if you got your answer! There\'s no need to lose hope, you know.. It\'s good you wrote him that letter. Now he knows what he\'s always known I guess and has it in writing. I hope the day will come when through that letter he\'ll see his mother\'s love.
Hi Marg. I admire your courage to take that step. I think it\'s important to stand firm by your decisions and yes to be patient as well. I truly believe that deep down our kids need us and as parents we need to set boundaries for them. By throwing down your gauntlet you\'ve shown him that your serious about not wanting to put up w/his crap anymore and if he wants you in his life then he\'s now got marching orders on how it needs to happen. He\'s probably thinking things over and if that\'s the case my prayer for you is that he reaches deep down inside himself and makes the right choice.
Hello Marge,
I am just writing to you to check in with you and your son. How did his meeting go? Did he share? How is he doing with living at the sober house? I have definately been where he is right now. I know adjusting is a little tough, but if he is serious about remaining clean he is definately in the right place. I wish you and your son the very best. Can you please keep me posted because when I hear good news or even bad news it reminds me of how this disease of addiction can really be. It is definately cunning and baffling. I\'m looking forward to hearing from you. God Bless.
