Looking Up and Down
Wow, it's been a couple years since I wrote here, pffft. But a lot has changed for me since then. I got away from my father, whom caused a lot of fear of the world in me and I had a strained relationship with. However, I find that now that we are separated and not together, we get along quite well. It's great!
I do have good faith in people, but I still have a general distrust of everyone around. I still have to muster up every ounce of courage in me and force myself into social situations, and basically have to stop thinking for a minute when I approach anyone new. It's quite difficult, and I often feel like I'm a fake, pretending to be confident and being someone I'm not. But I've realized that the important thing is, I do have a genuine interest in those I choose to communicate with and that translates positively to the people that I attempt to make a good impression on. Not only that, every time I force myself into these situations, I chisel away at my big block of fear.
Unfortunately, not everything can improve. While I have developed myself in the right direction as a person, I can't say the same thing for my body. I was recently told that I have ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I know it's treatable, so I'm staying positive with the hope that my thoughts will influence my body, and that science will so it's job.
More importantly, I found the love of my life. There were some D-Bags here and there to weed out, but we have a winner here. We've known each other for two and a half years. Sounds stupid, but this person is my angel on earth, he's been blessed with all the qualities I lack in myself and more. He's beautiful in every way I can think of. And the best part is, he's just an all around good guy, the type of person who will apologize for even the smallest transgression and forgive me for the largest mistake. I got more than I could have asked for. Too good to be true? I think not.
