Looking in to leaving my work

Right now I'm at a cross roads because I'm torn between possibly needing to quit my job because of my hearing or getting fired if things get worse. I have had people tell me I should look into ssi. I'm 50/50 right now in both ears in loss, but something is getting worse to where even the hearing aids aren't helping. I don't drvie unless i have to and it's just getting depressing. I have worked at my job for 5 years and the worst part is I like it. I work for an in bound call center for a cell phone company. It scares me to start looking for another job, but what are the alternatives?Right now I'm waiting until september when I can see a specialist about my hearing to see what they say. I can only hope that things work out until thne.
