Looking good..!!!!
Today is my oldest son, S's, birthday - he's 22! I can't believe it! Where has the time gone? Hubby and I are going to visit him tomorrow at school. A 2 1/2 hour drive with cupcakes and Easter basket on board. I sent his b-day & present ahead of time. Since he's been struggling a bit and since it's his b-day and Easter and all.......I will be so glad to see him. Even though T is on house arrest, I think being away for the day will be okay. He's been doing so well! So well, in fact, that he got an A in one of his classes. Not bad considering he pulled it up from an F. That's progress! Easy to talk to, fun to be around. Hope this continues. His court date is coming up on the 22nd. He could be released from probation then. His PO told him worst case senario judge could extend his probation and best....cut him free. I have a feeling it will be the latter. Which, of course, I have mixed feelings. As well as he's been doing........it still hasn't been long enough for me to be comfortable with. But......it's outta my hands. I'm meeting with the Principal of the Middle School next week. He thinks it's just going to be about the school adding their portion of the packet I created for the parents of the schools and community. I did tell him that I have some ideas from my Washington trip but, little does he know what I plan on presenting to him. I am actually creating a parenting program for the parents at the Middle School. I'm working on this as if he gave me the OKAY. I believe in it that much. I've looked high and low for one and haven't come across any. I did JUST get an e-mail from one of the national drug advocacy/associations ) whatever it is - asking me for a donation so that they can launch parent education program for schools to have access to. Not sure if it's a free one or not. The timing is very ironic, being that I couldn't find one on-line to check into and then this is sent to me. Although this organization is a very reputable site and has awesome information that I even got from this site for the packet I put together, I wonder if there is information I would like parents to have in there. One big item is STIGMA! STIGMA STAGNATES, EDUCATION MOVES - that's my motto..... I love my idea on how to address this. Perhaps later....... Oh - T ended up getting an allergic reaction to the Lamictal. Difficult time breathing and soon followed by a rash. It's a good thing he reacted right away, otherwise - it would have taken longer to get out of his system. The rash is supposed to be rare. Put a call into the doctor.....haven't heard anything, yet.
