Looking forward.......
I'm excited about the new year. To start fresh and see great things happening. I am also curious as to how or if my visions and dreams pan out. My husband asked me yesterday what my plans are for the New Year and I realized that I need to write them down because I gave him a wishy washy answer. A columnist in our local paper is writing a series about "making a difference" no matter how big or small you are. The timing is interesting because of where my "head is" right now. She will be doing a talk at the paper and I've been contemplating going. Maybe I just might.
Had a nice few evening entertaining or being entertained. Last night we went to our friends' daughter's wedding and it was so wonderful. This couple did a great job through and through planning it and it showed. We went with another couple but left an hour before the new year's celebration. Guess we're old fuddy duddies! It was about an hour drive from where we live so we thought it might be a great idea.
Today we're going to be spending the whole day driving. T went to a concert down where our other son,S, lives with some friends. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive. T's school is another 1 1/2 drive from where S lives. So we're supposed to pick up T with the school "stuff" we're bringing down to him, take him to school, and then drive back - which will take about 4 hours. First real significant snowfall is predicted to hit tonight. Hopefully, it won't be bad for us coming in......... Yikes! As much rain as we've had this past year (almost every day it seemed) I welcome it over snow because of the driving....... LOL

I\'m brainwashed into thinking One Day at a Time, but lately have been formulating some goals as well. Nothing wrong with setting an intention or two for the year. And having some optimism can\'t hurt, either....we were talking over Thai food last night about how far we\'ve come in the last few years with taking our lives back; that was nice.
I was asleep by 11 last night, and thank goodness as someone was letting off bomb-type fireworks nearby and I knew it would only get worse, so I slept thru it all. Too bad when you have to take a sleeping pill for the 4 th and New Year\'s because you can\'t stand the racket! Now there\'s a fuddyduddy for ya.
I hope your drive was a safe one. I\'m sure it\'s nervewracking with the dark and with snow. I hate the rain as well, as the light shining on the street makes it impossible to see lines in the dark. But growing up in MN I certainly remember how hard it was to drive in the snow when your headlights only light it up and not the road.
You are quite the parents to do all that driving. Kudos.
