lookin' up
It's so nice, for a change, to have things settled down and peaceful. I'm going to savour this time.
T has been doing well. He worked a few days this week for a friend of ours and even got up in the early AM too. He also has been doing chores around the house, which has been great. Went to an art gallery show last night with his darling former girlfriend.
I can't help but question when things are going well - even though I know better than that. My husband commented that when we talk about how well T's doing - I always have to make a negative comment like - "Yeah - but now that he has $ in his pocket - you know what that means". I believe I say these things because for a long time my husband had his head in the sand and I always had to work hard to point out to him that our son needed help. Sometimes old habits appear. Well now - my husband is right. Our son constantly surprises me - for the better.
Mind you - I know T is using again but not sure where that is going. I believe he's doing pot and drinking (based on Facebook photos) and coming home late but I guess time will tell where that is going.
Today I leave to receive my award. We have a 2 1/2 hour drive. The best part - seeing our oldest son! We told him we'd take him grocery shopping but he said he's all set. He is looking forward to us taking him out to lunch. I'm glad he's coming with us to the award ceremony! I miss him.
And middle son! Wow - he's blossomed into a fine young man. He's so mature - and overnight - no less. It's so exciting to see! He's interesting to talk to, he has an awesome girlfriend, he's doing extremely well in school, and he seems very happy! It's hard to believe that this was the one that had the deep depression for a good part of his adolescent years. Oldest was always an "old man" and never went through the "terrible twos or turbulent teen years". Funny - how extremely different all 3 of our boys are.
Last night hubby and I went shopping (he's so patient and good to shop with), bought a few outfits, went out to dinner, and then to an art show. All good. I was asked last night at the gallery to be a judge for a juried show that's coming up. Forgot to ask them when it is.
