Lonely

I don't write much. I am having a difficult time.  I'm just lonely and sad.
I do what I can to get out of it.  But as of late it is hard.
I have anxiety which I also work on.
Anyway, I felt like it was time to touch base here again.
Thank you in advance for anyone who would chat.

I'm always interested in chatting with you, if you are in need of a friend. I know it's so hard to feel lonely, and also have anxiety issues. I can relate to both. Anyway, I'm very sorry you are having a hard time lately, and I'm here is you want to talk. I do hope you start to feel better soon. Big gentle hugs!

I would go thru withdrawal symptoms if I did not come here daily and sometimes more than few times daily....it lets me not feel so lonely....

Yes. I have to start using DS more.
I am awake now. I have to look at how bad it snowed.
This will be quite a day with the amount we may have.

it is probably too much to try to get out in....I am not sure where you live or if you have work that have to get to but take the day off.....it looks bad where it snowed on East coast...

Yes snow is bad.
I think it will be stopping here.
I believe they say stay off roads until noon.
I will stay in as long as possible, if I leave at all.
Yes on East Coast

Good to hear from you again, Sarah01. I am sorry you have spells of loneliness and anxiety. I have had much loneliness lately myself. It does help me to participate on here, write on other's journals. Encouraging them encourages myself and makes some sort of connection.

I went to three group activities this past week and felt strange to be at all of them. But I went! I tried a bookclub for the second visit and it was as chaotic and weird as the first time. Long story but I realized who the "boss" was and who the other people were. The boss lady had strong comments, most negative, about everything in the book, in the meeting, and then said she loved the book. She was very competitive about the discussion and I decided to try just complimenting and praising her a lot. Which is tiring but it did calm her down.

This other guy came for his first visit and he felt kind of weirded out, too. I think I might let this one go because the chaos of where to meet comes down to the wire 10 minutes after the meeting time because they don't really have a place to meet. The bookstore is way too crowded and then we had to walk across a major highway street to go to a coffee shop. It is just weird. I am focused on being proud I went twice and participated in the discussion. Try to find one thing in each day you can praise yourself for doing.

Hasty. That’s great you put yourself out there and participated in the book club. There are all sorts of people out there. But yes going and trying is the main thing.
I went outside and lightly shoveled some snow. I like to do it, but it is heavy.
Yes I was reading everyone’s posts this morning.
Definitely a lot to read and , one learn from others and two engage in the posts.
So thank you.

be careful with the heavy snow....we do not want you to over do it....that can be a bigger problem than snow on the sidewalk....

Welcome back Sarah!

I'm sorry you've been struggling sweetie

I do the same thing with regards to comment on journals and some boards if people post like the Depression or Loneliness boards

Hasty I find over the top type A are often very critical and can be really hard to take

Good for you for pushing yourself to get out and involved though

Maybe another club would be a better fit??

Sending hugs...xo

I am just proud that Hasty enjoys spending her time reading....so many have never learned to read and personally my reading for enjoyment is not in books but in things posted by people here.....but books are way cool...I just cannot sit still and read....I have read and now find if I want to read something I should get an audiobook...

Yes and thank you!
I just move a little snow at a time.

May I ask, how do I know which board my post was posted on?
I know I just put public.
Thank you again.

Under your avatar it shows if someone has a new journal or post and who the member is if they're on your 'Friend's List'

How do you do a post vs a journal? I did posts in the past but don’t know what I did? Sorry to sound so dumb. Thank you.

You can post in various groups/boards, or you can do a journal. Both are considered posts. If you want to post in a specific group, then you just click on the group you want to post in, and you do a post, just like you did above.

This post titled, "Lonely" that we are commenting on showed up as a journal post, so it won't be seen in any group or board, it's just your personal journal on your page.

It looks like in the past you have posted in the Anxiety Support group, but this post is just a journal on your page.

I don't know if this answers your question or not. If not, then maybe SunCloudJD could better help you, but I hope what I typed cleared things up for you. Let us know if you have further questions about it.

you can join groups and I suggest joining some of the community groups which were started by members here....Your Happy Place is one Tess started that is active....she started a couple others too one is Thats Entertainment I think it is called another she did is about music and stuff related to sound....there is a group started by our dearly departed Lesa which is called Friends to the End....we keep it going by posting there she died last year or year before I forget....so nobody is actually a host there now....
I started You are what you eat and another Helping with the Housework.....Cedarbrooke started Laughter is the best medicine....

these are after all the DS created groups in the groups list....go to bottom of their stuff and the community groups will be available to choose from or you can start your own community group on topic of your choice like I did....
