Loneliness

I understand that part of the healing process after losing your love (spouse, family member or significant other) is dealing with the loneliness without them especially when it was just you two. But these past two weeks while dealing with an Acute case of Bronchitis then spending time in the ER had cause me to really acknowledge my life without my Love. I never felt more lonely than these past two weeks because I'm so used to us being there for each other and tending to each others needs. I can say that in the 24 years of marriage neither one of us ever spent time in a hospital without one of being there for the other and this hit me like a ton of bricks while I sat in the ER for about 6 1/2 hours. I believe the feeling of loneliness is just as bad as being ill if not worst depending on the illness.  Even though we had planned to grow old together I always had believed that I would be the one who would go first so I made preparations to make sure she would be taking care of and hope she would have an easier healing process by having very little to be concern with as far as her financial well being. I never once considered the other way around, so here I am totally unprepared but trying to handle this time of sadness the best way I can....ALONE.I wish each and everyone of you a successful healing process.Try to enjoy the new year with a smile.T.
