lonely
I am ready to go home. This has been a great work experience for me and will continue to be. I have 2 more work weeks here.I have caught up with many friends since I have been back. Has been bittersweet though. When you spend so much of your life surrounded by people that are recovering from addictions via a 12 step program, there is a much higher rate of death at a young age.So I have found that many friends and aquaintances that I have been touched by have died since I have been around. It is just part of my life and everyones of course.Think I am able to put some life behind me and move on. I have a friend who has acted as somewhat a spiritual advisor here that I will meet this week. That will be great. Also I am meeting the father of a very dear friend this week. My friend took his own life this year at the age of 36. We both got sober together 18 years ago and he had struggles throughout the years. We were tight for my first 4 years.I am looking forward to talking to his father. I really feel like I can go back feeling like I have left part of my old world behind and take the stuff thay will help me back with me.I also started a new relationship before I came here. It has been really nice.Stepping back out of my life has seemed to be really good. Maybe getting a better pic of what I want and need out of life. Oh yeah not the access to internet that I am used to . Miss people here on DS.
