Hmmm! Well left example sposed to be easiest... but I found that one HARDEST... rofl... duh... items were too SIMILAR and just one differentiating feature wasn't enough for me... LOL Okay so THEY reckon that a "disjunctive search" will be conducted in a "parallel" manner (all elements processed simultaneously... whereas, a "conjunctive search" will be actioned in a serial (single element evaluated one at a time???) search pattern... I don't think so... I did notice the "pop out" (element being searched for pops out of array) effect...
Klein, p127, argues that items are tagged for non-return (temporarily eliminated from the search) for a brief period once they have been inspected. Tassinari and Berlucchi, p.126, have shown this inhibition of return can lost for several seconds!
Feature maps are loaded pre-attentively... and attention is drawn to things that MATCH the feature being searched... FOR!
