LOL
I had a long meandering, introspective, self indulgent journal written and it went off in to cyberspace! Be thankful my friends!
I am sitting here sipping a gin and tonic and having very mixed feelings about this sudden change of lifestyle!
I feel for those who go to work every day and literally risk their health/lives for us. My good friend has worked 29 days in a row and is now sick in bed. She is a vice president responsible for nursing in a large continuing care company. She has spent her time supporting staff in addition to the reporting etc required by Alberta Health Services.
I keep reminding myself that I am one of the privileged. I actually have a place to shelter in place. I do have food, a husband who puts up with my moods, a computer that allows me to video chat with my family and friends who I talke to daily, just to make sure we are all okay! We are not weathy by any stretch of the imagination. But we have enough and I am grateful.
Having said that, I do miss hugging my friends, driving to Edmonton to visit our son, going out for beer and wings with the neighbours. I am particularly sad because Cevyn and the twins were supposed to come to visit next month. That ain't happening!
So I hope all my SOTH are hanging in and finding ways to pass the time. I know, I am not alone but there are days...
If you have any great ideas as to how I can actually do all the stuff that I should have time to do, e.g. clean the cupboards, tidy the closet, sort the clothing and fill a bag to donate - please let me know!!! I find being a couch potato is working quite well most of the time!!!
Lisa: I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Hello my friend, so glad you checked in and shared how you are doing and feeling. Sorry your first draft when poof. That happened to me one day last week too, and it can be frustrating.
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and pray it isn't this horrid virus. I am praying for her quick and complete recovery and for an end to it ALL SOON.
It is such a strange time in our world history, and I certainly never envisioned my life, the lives of all of us, looking as they do right now....isolation from family and friends, quarantines, lock downs, curfews, limited days in which some can travel, NO TP! I mean, WOW! It's all just a big WOW to me! Like you, my husband and I are blessed to have a safe place to "stay in place", enough food and enough supplies so we don't have to go to the store very often. Which is SO weird for me because I'm one of those everyday grocery shoppers. I actually love going to the grocery store, and would normally spend over an hour browsing all the isles, checking out things I've never heard of and googling recipes to see if it's something I think I could pull off, LOL. Now when I do have to go, it's mask on, gloves on, sanitizing wipe ready, rush in, rush out, don't linger, don't look, just get the necessities and get home to wash, wash, wash as fast and furiously as possible!
I did "start" with a whirlwind of cleaning; START. After the first week my enthusiasm slowed and I found myself pouring my evening glass of wine a little earlier each day as I sat on the couch watching TV, LOL! Not a good habit to let myself fall into, but man, it's easy to do. I think I was motivated to get a lot done thinking I had a very limited time frame, not ever thinking this would go on and on and on for weeks and now, looking like months. My thinking started to change from the urgency of time restrictions to, "oh, I can do that tomorrow or next week". So, I guess what I'm saying is I am no help in motivating you since I can't even motivate myself lately.
I am glad you're able to stay in touch with loved ones via chat. And I'm truly sorry Cevyn and the kiddos aren't able to make the visit. I know you are so disappointed. I just canceled our vacation plans and so you won't get to see me either! LOL! But seriously, I too am very disappointed. We LOVE Canada (have only been the one time to Whistler, BC and surrounding areas so far) but we will definitely be booking a trip again ASAP to see more of your beautiful country.
Sending tight heart hugs and prayers of Hope and Peace~
