Living My Dream

A few years ago I worked part time inside a large hotel near Orlando selling attraction tickets.  The general manager for the hotel would always walk past my stand and make the comment that he was living the dream.  I always wondered why he would choose to say it as he walked past me.  I am a believer of positive affirmations and keep a few around my desk, but didn't realize that he was probably speaking these words as his own positive affirmation to get him through his stressful days.
I have been working on my own dreams and speaking positive affirmations to myself all along the way.  I decided on my business name and I love it so much.  I registered for my cake decorating class that starts on the 31st of this month.  I bake delicious southern style cakes and will specialize in just three for my business, but will bake others for special orders.  I also want to learn to decorate cupcakes with just icing.  I want to be able to sell them at the flea market and other venues.  I am now researching business cards.
I have been baking since I was very young and have a pound cake that I have been baking for 40 years that is so delicious that it is one of my three cakes.  I am feeling so good about this endeavor and have discussed it with God and is following his lead.  This illness has made me finally think about me and what it is that I want out of life.  This is my second chance.  My sister and mother continue to tell me that I need to sell my cakes and I am now going to do it without excuses that I always had in the past.
