Living Hell
I still pray hope that my mom does not have Alz..one of the pills she is on has the exact same symptoms and I am trying to reduce her down off them..I did not know that one of her doctor's was already doing it...she had a bit of reaction today..but if she takes her nap and sleeps through the afternoon one till a bit late, I don't give her the afternoon one and since she takes a pill that makes her sleepy, I have cut the night one down to just 1/2 pill at night...I am going to try and if it works I can switch her to anther one for her nerves..Funny thing about the pill is I she had been cut down before she came her...I think it was about two weeks ago both my husband and I felt she had gotten worse..Yesterday she commented or maybe today, whe does talk a lot that she felt her memory was worse...so after I found out that she was not suppose to be taking as much of the pill as the doctor wrote her..I started to cut it down...So it will take a week or so to find out I think...If she can not have any withdraw symptoms itt is worth it..
I was writing a journal and got stopped, but was saying to my husband that what if I got it and what I would remember would be Ken dying and nothing else...that would be more "living hell"..and as I was reading one of my hugs...one of my friends had written the same thought...Not remembering the children alive, but only remembering the one who had died...That would we a "Living Hell""...
Let's pray that each of us never experience something like this.. I pray that maybe it is the pills..that are affecting my mom...I have seen a video put out a long time ago and it showed a lot of side effects...I really hated when mom when on the pill but she seemed to do okay up until now...I hope that it works that maybe she does not have Alzheimer's...so many drugs can cause so many same side effects..
I Pray it works..I pray there is another answer...Not sure about the nursing home but I am thinking that if she goes back there, there is no way to find out for sure...I pray God lets it go the way it should to find out...For mom to be back being mom would be a great answer to prayer....
Thanks all, Sandi

Sandi, the stress of your life is ENORMOUS right now. I wish I could help. I hope you and Ken can find a way through the wilderness... the thing about illness like your mother\'s is that no one knows except you what you are dealing with and when things are unacceptable and need to be changed... I went through that with Andy but hey I\'m not a doctor... I just had to say when something was NOT OK... and make my voice heard. It\'s a huge job, and I hope you will not have it for too long... maybe things will \'settle down\'??? Wouldn\'t that be nice?
Love, Sarah
I hope that cutting back on the meds help. I will keep you in my prayers, Marcia

Hi Sandy,
You write that you are cutting down on moms meds. I hope you are doing everything under a docs supervision cause many meds have big side effects when witdrawing. I only wish the best for you and mom . Hugs, Inga
Hugs and more hugs as you go through this very trying time... what is the med? Is it prescribed to deal with other issues? How are you dealing with those with the med being cut down?
hope your Mom is doing better day by day..

Has your mom been evaluated by a neurologist? They are trained for Alz... also make friends with your pharmacist. They know alot about drug interactions. He/She can tell you what to look for and if any meds are not ment to be together.
Hope all works out with your Mom.
Hugs Penny
Dear Girl: the free floating anxiety you write about, is something else we have in common. Deep breaths, and a little xanex. So sorry that you have so much to deal with, to work through. Our mothers, oh yeah, mine lived with us for her last ten years. We love them so much but it doesn\'t make it any easier. love ya, abby
I am absolutely sending you lots and lots of prayers for a good outcome with your mom. She is so lucky to have you to look after her, as hard as it is. I have 3 friends going through a similiar journey right now, and I know it takes a LOT out of you. Prayers also that we may not end up like this in our generation, for our living children to deal with. Don\'t know how that would go for me, as I only have one son now, and life and kids keep him
SO busy. My own mother went the way we all probably would choose--at 92, slipped quietly away after 3 weeks being home from the hosp.
Many, many hugs to you today, love Margery Ann
I\'m sorry I guess I did not include that it is the doctor her psych..was taking her down off them..when she came here to live her MD upped them..seemed her memory is worse on the higher dose...so I am just doing what the psych dr said to do..I would not take her completely off them...but she seems to do fine on one and half a day instead of 3 full ones a day..They are ativan...it does help but when she had a breakdown a few years ago she was on a pill that is used a lot and we switched from it to this one and she came right out of the depression..but I would not do anything the doctor\'s don\'t think she should have..the problem came when the two doctors were not communicating...and then I got the refills from the MD and the physc was the one who was suppose to be ordering them...but she is okay..you can\'t just take someone off something..right now she is on the dossage the physc wants her on...thanks for all the encouragements..Sandi
Sandi, I absolutely agree about the meds. My mother was gradually put on so many meds that all she did was vomit 24/7. She was back and forth between the hospital, then nursing home, back to the hospital and then nursing home again before my sister finally made the decision to bring her home. We worked with hospice to get her meds right. She was somewhat comfortable after that. Nothing will make the situation you find yourself in any better. This is the painful part of life. Again, will continue prayers for you.
love and peace, Roselle
