Little Nudges
A home care nurse came by this morning to change the bandage on my leg. While she was doing it, I told her about my problems getting up the steps after taking Kit out to the yard and that since it was raining hard I didn't take him, nor did I get the newspaper. After she was done, she offered to take Kit out and get my newspaper and she did. It's not in her job description. Just something she wanted to do to help me. I have a doctor at the wound care center who wants to know all about my health and will send me to other docs when needed. I have a neighbor who checks on me and has, more than once, helped me back in the house. AND, ran an extension cord from her house to mine to power my O2 when the electricity was out. Then there was the cable repairman who made sure my electricity was turned on fast and bought batteries for my lantern, a small flashlight and big candles so I wouldn't have to sit in the dark. My 2 sisters have given me support even though they live out of town, and my cousin who lives near by has been there for me too. These are just a few of what I'm calling "God's Little Nudges" His way of reminding me I'm not alone when I think I am. It may take me a few minutes to recognize the nudge, but I'm getting better at it.

It is so critical for us to see all that is good in our lives when we face crises as doing so provides needed strength to allow us to make it through the challenges.
