Little Girl
I call her "Little Girl". Her given name is either "AJ" or "AK". I'm not sure which. I've written about her before. She's one of three dogs chained to my neighbor's fence. "Buddy", who I used to call "Little Boy" is chained near the back of the yard. The newest, I call "Blue Eyes", is nearer the house. Little Girl is in the middle. When I took Foxy out to do her thing yesterday afternoon, Little Girl was in our yard. She'd dug a hole under the fence. How am I gonna get her back in her yard I wondered. Foxy went to do her thing and I walked over to Little Girl. When I got close, she got up and put her paws on my shoulders. I talked to her gently, telling her that I loved her as I do all the dogs in the yard and stroked, and rubbed her. I've tried petting them over the fence, but the sharp top of the chain-link makes it hard. Little Girl would get down then get back up on me again and again. It was easy to love this dog. I kept telling her she needed to get back in her yard so she wouldn't get in trouble, but she wanted attention so bad. She had been trying to be friends with Foxy for a long time, but Foxy almost ignored her. Well, Foxy got finished and I walked to the gate. To my surprise, Foxy walked over to Little Girl and they nuzzled each other in a friendly way. I got another surprise in that when Foxy walked away, Little Girl crawled back under the fence. She had gotten what she needed,,,,love from me and a better friendship with Foxy.

She sounds like a little sweetie.... i hate to see dogs that are left and neglected without affection - only when it\'s convenient for the humans in the relationship. And people wonder why their dogs become mean and aggressive being chained up all the times. Glad she got some lovin\' from you, Mike, tender heart that you are. Hugs, Deb :o)
