Lisa's birthday and change

Happy HeaveYonly Birthday Lisa.

51 years ago, you came into this world with a head full of black hair!  You were born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territory.  You were the only non indiginous baby in the nursery but you fit right in!  You were beautiful.

It is still incomprehensible to me that you have been gone for 13 years...  I miss you every day.

Change:  They say that the only sure thing is death and taxes.  Well, change can be added to than.  Nothing stays the same.  I am mostly okay if I am in charge of the change.  But it comes as a shock when things change without my permission!  I went for lunch yesterday with 3 of my neighbours.  Adriana (my closest neighbour) announced that she and her hubby are moving.  It wasn''t a complete surprise because she had floated the idea before but never seriously - at least I didn't think she was serious.  

I totally understand why they have decided to move.  Her husband is 79 and has had health problems.  She has Sjogren's which has affected her eyes.  She has a corneal ulcer which is incredibly painful.  She literally needs to use eye drops every half hour.  She also tires easily.  So they are moving to a seniors' independent living apartment.  They can access meals and get help if needed.  They are selling their condo so we will be getting new neighbours.  I told her to make sure they are nice neighbours!

We went out to a theatre performance last evening.  When I turned my phone on afterwards, i had a message from Cevyn's friend.  Her husband had been arrested - he is volatile and had been in trouble before for family violence.  She was in the process of leaving - this speeds up the process.  They have 2 year old twins.  Her mom is a good friend so I know that they are going to be looked after. I also know that Cevyn is there for them.  

So who knows what the day will bring.  All I know for sure is that we are going to dinner with our friend Leslie.  She always has us to dinner on Lisa's birthday and angel day.
