Light the Night Walk
Well, this past Saturday night, I participated in the 'Light the Night' Walk in memory of my Mom. It was a bittersweet night, my sister J had really put her heart into volunteering this past year to create a red carpet "Inspiration Tent for Survivors" from any blood cancers. They came in, and had a little pampering, there were 3 massage therapists there, fruit and cookies and waters and juices and cupcakes. It was all red/white (as are the colors for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society)... and flowers with tulle draping etc.... I will try to post some pix once I get them downloaded off the camera. My sister and I raised over $2000.00, my kids and husband were there, my sister drove up from Maryland with her family, my Dad and brother and his kids and some close friends walked with us. It was nice to have everyone together, it was sad, and warm and we all missed her. We made Team shirts with a quote that read, "Anything is possible", "tutto e possibile", it was something that my mom always said to us, and we scanned her signature from a card and had her name on all the shirts. It was amazing, she always got us together, and i was happy that everyone was there to lean on each other and support each other and take one day to remember her as a family, together. I miss her terribly, and after the walk, I was sad that night, and Sunday was just so hard. God, I hope she can visit me in a dream, give me a hug and her unforgettable smile. I love you Mommy, and I hope you are proud! We all miss you soo much, I sure could use a hug from you!!! xoxoxo
