Lifes Ups & Downs

I had a good appt with my diabetes dr.  It went better then what I had thought.  Juggling insulin doses when the lupus steroid drugs are changing makes things a bit of a challenge but we've got a pretty good varying insulin dose arranged so now all I have to do is make sure I stick to it like glue.  Alas I do have days where darn it all I want those couple pieces of chocolate or a small baked good so I don't beat myself up abt it.  Actually if I plan it in advance with a meal then I adjust my insulin to account for that.
My drs are a bit concerned still abt the passing out episodes I had journalled abt.  I still experience episodes of light headedness.  It usually is in the first 48 hrs after my methotrexate injection (which is on Friday morning) but today is Sunday & I'm having problems with that today.  Sure dictates that life has to be quiet.  I do find though that if I take Gravol it seems to help.  Anywho my drs decided that seen as the hospital did not do any type of 24 hr heart monitoring that they should proceed.  So on July 16th I'm going in for something called Holter Monitor testing.  Evidently there are electrodes that will be put on me & I guess they are hooked up to some gizmo.  So I go abt a normal day with this thing attached to me & I go back the following day for whatever follow up they do from that point.  It will then be forwarded to my drs & when I see one of them the next time they'll fill me in. I'm fairly well at peace with the whole scenario.  But being only human I do have moments where I can almost feel frustration, worry & the whole thing trying to sneak into my life.
Have been having more moments where hubby's frustration & anger with the direction of his life is way more noticeable.  It's very obvious in situations where there are things that need doing and/or attending to around the house & he's not always able now & I'm only capable of so much & of course me being the only other person in the house I'm on the receiving end.  But I think what's important is that I don't take it to heart, I know the why & where it's coming from.  He's strong enough too to be able to see it.  We recently did actually heart to heart talk abt this type of thing.  It really really helped clear the air.
I still have my weekly escape fr reality at the cat shelter.  To be surrounded by all the love most of them have to give does a heart good I tell you.
Any ways I'll sign off for now.  Gotta head upstairs & start some bison burgers for supper tonight.
Love you all my dear dear friends.

I do hope you truly believe me when I tell you I know exactly how Mel is feeling. I have experienced it with Terry. Men fill very frustrated when they can\'t do things like they did before they got sick, In it took me a long time to accept and aid has to come here to do all my house work and now part of my cooking. It is so very had to give up one\'s independence and have to rely on some one else. But once he accepts it his mind will fill better and his moods will improve. I get very anxious from my medicines and that doesn\'t help matters with Terry. I depend on him so much some times to much. It is so hard for me any more to stand to long or walk to get some thing so I am always asking Terry to help me. My aid is only here 3 hours 5 days a week and even though she is a blessing I need more care.My COPD is getting worse so I can relate to everything you and Mel are going through. All I do is pray most of the day in my chair I sit in for about 8 hours a day I read my bible and listen to music and try to thank God for what I do have and it seems to help me feel better. I am happy you have the cat shelter to go to. I know how much you love them and its good for you to go there, good therapy. You know I pray for you and Mel every day and I hope you both start to feel peace and comfort the closer to get to God. He does see, and hear our every cry prayer and knows our pain, just go to him and find his comfort and joy, knowing he loves you so much and wants to help you both. May god smile upon you my precious friend
God loves you and so do I.
~Frieda~ xoxo.

I had a halter monitor test years ago. I thought it would be a big deal and after it was over I thought \"how silly that all was!\" Aside from being irritating to bother with the gizmo, you don\'t even know you have it on and I think most of these tests turn out completely normal and you wonder why you bothered LOL. Hope that is the case for you! I can relate to your hubby\'s frustration. When I am in pain, it is the worst. Today, with my back pain, I kicked a kitchen chair into the dining room and let it bang into things and crash to the ground. Oh, that felt good LOL. I\'d been stepping over & banging into that chair for ... well, 8 years haha. But it does affect others, so it is better to pray I know. But sometimes it feels good to throw something aggravating out the 2nd story window, like an old inkjet printer that just never worked right. : D
Hope you are all feeling better and enjoying your time with the kitties. Please keep us posted. Sorry I haven\'t been on here all that much lately. You are in my prayers though.
