Life With All It's Twists & Turns

Well I made it thru December but in all honesty-barely.
I don't know if anyone else with any type of chronic condition ever finds that the mind is in 200% in great shape but boy the rest of you just doesn't agree with it.
December saw me pulled in many many directions with so many people needing time, or needing what seemed like parts of me, or wanting me to make decisions etc. etc. etc.  I was very proud of well I stayed on top of all the demands or kept them in their places accordingly but by Christmas good old Lupus was saying it had had enough, thats it, done for & my body started complaining.  It was nothing I couldn't handle really, I just wasn't functioning on a full tank & the physical aspect of it all was what really got me angry at myself.  I started to get my lupus vasculitis rash on my lower legs but thankfully I was due for my methotrexate injection so that has helped that quite a bit.  My hubby even started to worry abt the whole thing.
So January is seeing me officially taking a few steps back from certain parts of life.  I'll be darned if my rheumy is putting me back on prednisone-not gonna happen if I have any say abt it all.   I do know that once I restart my regular exercise routine next week(it was finished till after the christmas season), physically it will help me a huge amount so I'm looking forward to that.    The icing on the cake of all this was the long time ongoing sewer problems we've been having at our place.  We finally had a video inspection done & found out that abt 25 feet out the sewer had collapsed.  Normally this would be a gigantic huge job but we were able to confirm that it was collapsed on city property so hence it was their job to fix.  I can give a big sigh and confirm too that that is one more thing off of the list of things in life to tend to or worry abt.
I've been taking in extra sessions with my reflexologist to help me stay balanced as much as possible thru this.  She too even did notice that I was overall really not in a good space.  On Dec 23rd she did Thai Reflexology & some hot stone treatment and she was totally puzzled by the fact that she had a hard time reaching me she said.  She said she could really feel that I had almost just sort of shut down or put a wall around my myself.  I'm always very receptive to any of her treatments & my whole person really responds to it very well.   I have a massage on Friday afternoon & then see my reflexologist on Tues so I'm so so looking forward to tending to me, myself and I.   The beginning of Feb I'll be going for a deluxe chocolate body spa treatment so so far 2012 is seeing me tending to me.
One thing I'm anxious to know what my friends think.  I so love my volunteer work at the cat shelter & am very dedicated to every single furry friend there(abt 100 +), but the overall condition of the facility has really been pushing me & my work partner to the limit at the best of times.  The back area of the building gives "hoarding" a whole new definition and the overall general, well, everything, is very very frustrating-lack of building maintenance, certain aspects of cleanliness(not really meaning the cats here themselves) & oh just so many things.  Well last week got the better of me, the straw broke the camels back, when I got home I made a call to our city regarding workplace health and safety & filed a report.  Thankfully I could do it without leaving my name.  Part of me had wanted to do something for so long but something was always keeping me from taking the first step.  I wonder if maybe the Lord was waiting for right moment in time before giving me the push to do this.  They've had various types of inspections over the past years but they keep passing them.  Doesn't say much for the inspections does it.  So we'll see.  I do know in my heart & it feels like it's now something I must do, that if nothing comes of this then I'm phoning the owner of the shelter(the owner only shows his face around there a few times a year).  So who knows, things could get interesting at the kitty shelter, we'll see.
Well I'll sign off for now, I think I've rambled quite a bit.  I so love all who take the time to read these words & I look forward to knowing your thoughts and/or comments.

Glad you\'re stepping back this month, catch your breath, regroup, recharge! You seem to know your body / illness so well and how to tackle it! That\'s very impressive. Hope you enjoy your mmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaasssaaaaaaggeeee.... that\'s heaven!

I think you did the right thing reporting the cat shelter. You have to go with what your heart\'s telling you to do and you love the catlets...... good for you, girl. Keep us posted. Love to see you rambling MORE (hint, hint) I\'m just not a good \'responder\'..... Love and hugs, Kitty, you\'re a special vital friend to me. xo

I\'m glad you took that step and reported the shelter. I find so many times people feel alike regarding a situation but no one wants to make waves, that was brave of you and took courage.
Sorry to read about your father, you are kind to respect who he is in your approach to him.
You take good care, enjoy the massage and rest, rest, rest.
XOXO-Teisha

Good for you for taking that step forward and reporting the shelter, I know that it must have really been a hard one for you to do. But you did really well there because you care so much about those cats there and love them. So proud of you for helping them. It is not always easy having a illness and one has so many roads ahead. But it is good you are taking care of yourself with your health. Hugs and love xx

I\'m always happy to see a journal from you. : D
I\'m glad that the sewer problem is no longer your problem to fix. That is a relief! I\'m glad that you called the city about the shelter. I think the holy spirit urges us to do things like that sometimes. I don\'t think you should dwell on it or feel guilty at all. I pray that something good come out of it amen! The furry friends are lucky to have you and your partner there. Just don\'t over do it OK? meaning ... don\'t get too stressed or tired.
It seems all of us with chronic conditions are flaring. : ( all I can say is that it WILL pass and I\'m glad to hear you are dedicating time to take care of yourself and get the massage. I wish I could come with you! : )

I think you and i are feeling about the same. flaring and overwhelmed and burned out. I think we just need some \"time off!\"

I pray for many many blessings and peace for you. And some nice days that you can get outside when possible. WE had a day like that yesterday here. It was awesome! love ya, m

I was surprised to see a journal from you :-) I love to read them. Good for you that the city has to pay for the repairs on that sewer problem.
I do think the Holy Spirit tells us when to do some thing, maybe at this time a person who gets your message about the shelter will be the right one and things will get done.
I also agree with you about my mind being good but my body is not. LOL I can barley move any more. I was so sick for 21 days during Christmas and New Years I don\'t know how I made it .
Good to see your taking some \"ME\" time. Wish I could join you. Well God Bless you my precious friend. Love you like crazy. Frieda
