Life Update
It's been a very long time since I've added to my journal. Happy to say that after being diagnosed with cancer in May 2013, having surgery, radiation and 2 rounds of chemo ending December 21st that I'm now cancer free...at least for the moment. It was such a long dark tunnel and it seemed like I'd never feel normal again. Finally, about 2 months ago I had my energy back again. Able at last to go out for the day and enjoy myself.
My biggest trouble is having my medical plan change from Medicaid to Medicare, my primary physician changing and having a terrible time getting all my meds filled! I've been without my Seroquel for over 2 weeks. Withdrawals suck and I am fighting hard not to slip into a full blown manic episode. Yes, I've made phone calls.
On the bright side I posted a picture of my new puppy Aries who is about 10 weeks old. He's a Jack Russell mix that I adopted at a local shelter. He's a little firecracker who gets me outside many times a day to play, and play hard. Luckily we have a big backyard where he can run like a little demon full speed. Can't go out for a walk til he has his second set of shots later this month. So far he hasn't met a person he doesn't love, love, love. Shyness isn't an issue.
This Sunday will be my first Mother's Day without my mom here as she passed away last July. Kind of an odd feeling. I'll be going out for an early lunch with my son and his girlfriend (I'm her mom #2 since her mom passed away 5 years ago). Then I'll come home and cook Chile Verde for my dad.
