Life & Stuff

Got half way thru my journal & DS kicked me out, second time thats happened.  So here I go again.
Recently had my reg checkup with my rheumy.  I told him that Dec had been a trip to @#$@@ & back.  A friend had pointed out that that was the 3rd Dec in a row that had been like that for me.  I was wondering if there was something abt lupus & Dec that he could explain.  He paused for a bit & then said no it was just me.  Geez whiz, not what I really wanted to hear.  When Jan rolled in I could feel my whole body & being settling down, really strange.  I had so so hoped that we would start to wein me off some meds but he didn't feel the time was right.  If I can stay stable till my next appt in spring then we'll see then.  So it gives me a goal to work towards.
I can now see the reason behind my diabetes dr wanting me to do the carb counting at meal time & counting out my insulin dose accordingly.  Don't you hate when they're so right, LOL.  It truly does seem to keep my blood sugar levels better balanced.  I realized that a while back when I'd gone thru a brief period where I got lazy abt it & blood sugars sure reflected that.
The weather has hubby more confined to the house, mind you there's maybe a lot of us that are in that mode right now.  He finds he does get bored some days but if I've got a cooking and/or baking project on the go or there's the always present housework he'll try & pull his share of the weight.  The prostate cancer villain of course has been under conrol, he goes for his next check in Apr.  We're at a point where we can almost easily talk abt these parts of life but it's hard to keep it in it's place & not take control of your moods.  A huge surprise one night - we were getting ready for bed & he was sitting catching his breath & he all of a sudden said that if it wasn't for all I do that he'd have to be in an assisted living facility.  I sometimes wonder if there's a part of him that wishes we could be settled in an apartment sooner then later cause he knows looking after the house would be almost impossible for me.  I always try & reinforce that where we are at this point is exactly where the Lord wants us & we'll walk the road, embracing all that is & move forward.  We still get to the gym sometimes twice a wk & I'm still in yoga on Thurs mornings.  I so often feel that yoga does so much more for me then any of the drugs do.  It's just such a good overall fit for my wellbeing.
I've been very frustrated with the cat shelter lately.  I'd like to take the two main people & just bang their heads together sometimes.  The facility is so so run down, messy, untidy, etc., etc., & it just doesn't faze them.  At the best of times they just won't listen to anyone.  It's making me wonder how much longer I can put up with that bull, but then the cats tug at your heart strings so much.  I just don't know.  I know  my work partner says she just focuses on helping the kitties have some love & happiness for whatever time there is.
Darn it, I have to admit that my diabetes dr knew what he was doing when he put me on the carb counting in meal planning & then measuring my insulin dose accordingly.  Don't you hate whe they're right, LOL.  It's greatly helped stabilize my blood sugar levels & I could really tell cause there'd been a brief period where I got a bit lazy & boy my blood sugar levels sure reflected it.
Well I guess thats abt it for now.
Love to all my friends that can take time to share this with me.

Well, I\'m sure it is frustrating to know they are right, but at least you know *something* and aren\'t in a quandry about what\'s going on anymore right? : )
Sigh. I know it can be super difficult to watch everything we eat and I am horrible at it, so you have my respect for doing things as well as you already are. I think it is great that you are getting to the gym and doing yoga. Congrats on that! I\'m struggling with the energy to do that on top of my work day. Maybe your friend at the shelter is right abt focusing on the kitties more than the mess, hard as it surely can be. Some people are just truly oblivious to mess and dirt haha. But I\'m sure it is no joke whatsoever when it comes to things that affect their well being. Good to lift it up in prayer. God loves cats as much as we do, I am sure. : D

love you, hope you stay warm and feel well this winter xoxo.

I guess these docs know what they\'re talking about although I do know there are good and bad ones, like anything. Congrats on the carb counting, that takes patience and dedication I think. Who owns your cat shelter? Is there a board that you can connect with? I know about them tugging at your heart strings. I used to volunteer at our humane society was a \'cat play specialist\'...
Wow, for hubbie to say what he did, well, tells you how important you are to him. The thought of moving, for us, is overwhelmng as we have accumulated alot of stuff.... stay warm and keep baking/cooking/counting! xo

Amazing how sometimes these docs are right, but I\'m with Rusters, about good and bad ones. Nice your doctor is there to sit and chat and help you. Well done and Congrats with doing so well, with watching what you eat. It is so hard to do this, but sometimes when we do these good things, it really puts a smile on our faces to know we are doing the right things. So nice you do volunteer work at the Cat shelter, sorry about the those two people there giving you a hard time. I think you are doing a wonderful job there, to take care of the cats. Sometimes when one wants to do something really nice, then others will not listen. So I can understand how frustrating it must be for you. It is hard to move to other place, and not have all the things that one is always used to, We moved from a big house to a small house. It took a while to used to it, but we love it.

Dr Dr Dr.. LOL Sometimes they do hit the nail on the head. I am only happy that you got to get the help you needed. Thats so important for us diabetics. I just did a research on how carbs effect diabetes I made up my mind to cut out all sugar, pasta, cereal and potatoes for a couple of weeks and see what happens with my sugar cause it\'s been higher then I like.
I think you would miss going to that cat shelter. Is here another shelter that is cleaner or is that the only one?
This weather has been awful here and not helping my hubby\'s depression, he has been very hard to get along with again and I am so sad all the time.
Did I tell you my doctor is thinking of putting me back on hospice? I am waiting to hear from him, said he\'d call this week but have not heard from him so maybe no news ca be good news..I will be praying for you and your hubby and maybe getting into a nice senior building would be a good thing. I like mine, it is very nice and people seem pleasant. No outside or inside maintenance and that is nice. Well better let you go. Call me again . Love you always, Frieda xoxo
