Life & Stuff
Well life is reasonably more quiet lately which is such a blessing with all the cold weather. Not as many appointments & no more passing of family & friends close to us. January was a period that we both decided is best left buried in the past.
I went thru my oral surgery way way better then I originally hoped. But, my whole ongoing dental issues get me so discouraged alot of times. Now I've got to take my bottom partial plate in to have it adjusted for the tooth I just had extracted. I'm starting to have moments where I wonder if I'm heading for a full denture on the bottom, YUCK, don't even like thinking abt going there. I know the diabetes comes into play with oral health issues but I'm not familiar with the lupus end of things & if it can have an affect on oral health, hhmmm?
Very disappointing end of story with the city inspection of the shelter. According to him, all is fine. I think he said they had a few issues but he understands they've been dealt with. Hubby had told me that on a scale of 1 to 10 in the usefulness & reliability of city inspectors it rates abt a -10 but somehow I really felt that with the extremely obvious problems with the building that this time it would be different. I felt so so discouraged & actually felt like I just wanted to put my hands in the air, yell why do I even try, I give up, etc. etc. But thankfully I guess there were alot of kitty bodies that must have been able to feel what I was feeling & came to my aid. I'm still having a hard time keeping my spirit bouyed up for their sake.
I'm trying a short time experiment & not taking my weekly methotrexate injection(dr doesn't know abt it yet). It's actually been going quite well. I'm having long periods of time with just a few minor rash flares at the end of a day when I'm fatigued & not much pain issues at all. Now, if I could just find a way to convince my dr that I know whats right for me at this time & to let me keep trying wouldn't life be grand. Boy they can be narrow minded sometimes can't they.
Hubby's doing fairly well. This weather is really doing a number on his ease of breathing sometimes. He finds it very frustrating alot of times I guess because the mind says do & go but the body doesn't agree. We still go to the Wellness Institute abt twice a week. He can use oxygen while he's there so it enables him to go to the 15 min stretch class then walk the track & get on the bike. I always try & remember to tell him that it doesn't matter how much it's that he still just does his best.
His checkup at the cancer clinic is coming in abt 2 wks & I so try not to let my imagination go crazy on me but boy it can be hard especially after going thru several deaths of those close to us as we did in January, it can sure shake you up a bit.
If anyone knows of anybody or place that would like some snow we've got more then enough to spare??????????????? LOL, really it's no problem!
Anywho I hope this finds all my dear friends doing well & embracing life. Thanks so much for checking out my journal.

Glad to see you have a journal today. Nice to know what you have been doing. sounds like you have been cooped up like the rest of us with all the snow we had. It finally stopped snowing here but lots of rain.
So sorry to hear about the cat shelter maybe some one with money will donate some so they can fix that shelter for those poor cats.
I hope you and Mel can get out and do a few things now that the weather is starting to get nicer. Let me know how Mel\'s appointment goes at the cancer center. You and Mel are always in my prayers.
Love, Hugs,and Prayers, Frieda
It is nice to hear from you and learn more about how you are doing. : )
How much snow do you have on the ground right now? We had about 16 inches, but now it is melted to about 7 maybe. I\'m sure there is more coming.
I\'m glad hubby is getting to do some stretching and walking and biking. I\'m sure that makes him feel better! I oh so know how you are feeling about that upcoming clinic appt. People don\'t really understand how hard waiting can be until they are under the gun themselves, and even then we tend to forget over time. So, I am praying for you both!
I\'m sure I\'ve shared my story with stopping mtx before. My issues didn\'t show up again until week 5 or 6. The first 5 or 6 weeks w/o it felt really good, then slowly I began to feel crippled again. Very slowly though. So, I\'m only sharing that b/c I wouldn\'t be a good friend if I didn\'t, but I trust your decision. After all, we have different issues and symptoms and all.
I\'m so sorry the inspector didn\'t lay down the law at the shelter. Sigh. Life is weird that way. Very weird. I do hope that somehow something good comes out of that, even if they try to clean up their act in the future or something. God will surely sort all of it out in his timing. : )
Sending you hugs across the miles, wishing I could be there to have a spot of tea with you my friend. xoxo
Well I am disappointed with the results of the inspection. With all the anguish you went through in getting them there to do their inspection. Maybe this caused concern for the power that be there and they will feel guilty and do the right thing?
This winter has been so harsh for so many. Crazy record breaking temps both high and low all over the country. Here the snow finally all melted and today it is raining, which I love. Spring is coming....
I\'m happy for you that your life has more peace now. After all you\'ve been through you so deserve the rest.
Your husband sounds like he is doing well, just going to the Wellness Clinic twice a week is wonderful. Probably impossible, but try not to borrow worry. It never changes anything anyway, except your own well being.
You didn\'t mention your new yoga class. Are you enjoying it? I\'m glad your surgery went well, hopefully you won\'t have to get the dentures.
Take good care my friend, be careful with your methotrexate. It is awesome that you are feeling so much better without it.
Much love to you always
