Life In General
Does anyone ever find that one can get caught up in the road of everyday life that you don't stop to notice and/or pay attention to the little things that can be there that can remind one that the there really is some good and/or happy heart moments if one stops to pay attention.
I was doing a morning bike ride around the neighbourhood & I was on a street that has a large church on it & there are trees and flowers a bit on the boulevard. I noticed two grey squirrels kind of playing around together. I stopped my bike to watch them & noticed at the next tree there was a little mommy red squirrel with her two babies just sort of hanging around. I think she most likely had them out showing them the world & teaching them abt life. It was early & the neighbourhood was super quiet yet. For me it was a special few moments just to stop & feel the peace of nature like that.
I've got a mommy blue jay who brings her fledglings around alot. One day they were here & she was making the cutest little warbling sounds to them. When you watch you can tell that she is explaining their world to them. It just is a few moments that reinforces some happiness.
This is truly a story that can tug at your heart. There's a 10 yr old boy who was so bothered by people being on the street with not much food that he felt he needed to help. With his mom they've been putting together food to hand out. He baked abt 300 cupcakes also. Well before you know it their neighbours found out & started bringing stuff over & it's almost gone viral. A 10 yr old thats not attached to electronics & all the physical wants in life. I thought boy there is a young angel in our world.
We've also had a middle aged man with his wife who just park themselves across from our city's two missions with their vehicle full of bottles of water. He had been on the street for alot of yrs so he remembers all too well so him & his now wife just hand out cold water.
For me I find it so theraputic to hear & see stuff like this, kind of refocuses life for you.
I've been starting to feel more balanced physically most of the time but still have to watch that I don't lose focus on being nice to myself more often. I haven't called yet today abt my CT scan results, don't know why I'm burying my head in the sand abt it. Get with it girl, right!
Oh yea, I've got my birthday coming up too soon & hubby & I were watching food shows the other day. He always hears me mentioning that if I could I'd get a grill like a George Foreman type of grill & I thought there's so much you could do with. I also stated that at this point in time I didn't really feel like I maybe needed to have one. So, he could see how much I've thought abt these & I had some errands to go out & do so he told me to check them out. Hey not a hard sell there I tell ya. I ended up getting myself a T-Fal Optigrill. I've so far done steak & chicken on it. Man oh man are me & that grill going to stay best friends. It is amazing. Compact, lightweight, super easy to use & clean. Gotta love that grilled taste!
Wild & wacky weather here. The last couple days we're abt 100 degrees farenheit. Whopper storms going all around us but we've barely been getting good doses of rain. People are saying maybe mother nature is saving the best or lets say worst for last. Don't think I like going in that direction.
Anywho I'll sign off for now. I offer my love & thanks for my friends comments & thoughts.

Hi, dear friend! I so loved reading your journal here. I feel just like you when it comes to the little things in life that bring us joy. I have been watching the robins that nested close to my bedroom window and how the Mommy has them out pecking the ground looking for worms and such, and it is a joy for me everytime I see them. Your Optigrill sounds great. I will have to check it out..
Lots of love and hugs and everything comforting and good to you,
P.T.
Geez, I\'m late getting here but made it! Yes, the beauty in small things is all around us, like watching birds in feeders. We now have a woodpecker (Woody, how creative huh) who is very entertaining. Our world is so focused on negative, hearing the good stories does reinforce the great things around us.... do you have your happiness / gratitude jar? That\'s fun and you make deposits and reflect at the end of each year....helps me, kinda fun.... Go grill girl, go! Did I miss your birthday? So sorry if I did..... Wacky weather, weird summer. What are your favourite months? Mine are May/June and October. Love and hugs friend. xxoo
