Life Bites At Times

Some of this is further to my Jan 17th journal entry.
Well I stayed true to the kitties at the shelter & I did call the owner Todd.  The one thing that I did learn, without a doubt, is that he is 200% totally useless.  He hummed & hawed & skirted just about everything or had a lot of good excuses.  So when all is said & done my partner & I will strive to always do our best for the kitties in all ways possible and I guess thats where this will stand for now.  I do feel that the Lord will intervene in his own way when he feels he needs to.  So thats that for now.
My appointment with the oral surgeon is tomorrow, Friday at 8:30 a.m.  As it turns out I had a tooth on the lower left side break & when I went running to my dentist abt this one he did confirm, as I felt it would be, there's nothing to save so it has to go also.  Luckily, I guess????, the oral surgeon can do them both while he has me totally sedated in la la land.  My dentist & I had a good laugh at the time cause he wasn't sure if I wanted to stay awake for this type of work or not & I said, no, nada, fat chance, wake me up when it's over LOL LOL.  So I'll have a few stiches on either side that will dissolve in abt a week.  So on a closing note on this subject I'll add - to all my friends who have checked in here don't neglect your dental appointments ever, get checked & cleaned regularily & always pay attention to your oral health as it can have such an impact on alot of other things.
Now on to other stuff.  Hubby & I are pretty much doing OK.  Miscellaneous small issues come & go but as you all know, you deal with it & move on.  There's nothing much really in this dept to dwell on right now.
Next page - my two sisters & I did go with my dad today for his follow up stuff at the cancer clinic for his prostate cancer issue.  He did have CT scans & bone scans to establish what's going on outside the prostate.  The same type of stuff my hubby had done but alas my dads story is not going in the same direction.  We already knew he had a more aggressive type & there are signs that it is somewhat active outside the prostate.  The dr reported that his lymph glands are a bit enlarged & there's a couple questionable areas in the spine & hip area.  They did say that radiation is out of the picture at this point.  The next step they are going to take is hormone therapy treatment.  He'll start a daily oral pill for a week & will also have an injection done on Friday the 17th.  They have pretty good success with the hormone therapy as far as remission goes & it can go into remission for several years.  So we've got a bit of a rocky road ahead of us but we shall walk on.
I guess I'll close for now.  I doubt I'll be on tomorrow after my dental work but we'll see what tommorrow brings won't we.

A journal! Woo hoo....

Okay, the kittie shelter dude is a KNOB! How can people in these positions be so uncaring or intelligent? Miffs me but you and your partner are SO doing the right thing. Do what\'s within your control and God will handle the rest. The kitties love you, I just know it. I loved volunteering at our Humane Society, years ago.

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow! LA LA LAND!!! Yesssirreeee! Way to go. Wake you up when it\'s over! Good message to us all about oral health and care. I did go for a cleaning 2 weeks ago, even with no dental coverage because it\'s preventative.

Glad you and the hub are good. Sounds like usual relationship stuffs, ups, downs and arounds, all normal, so normal not worth journaling eh?

I am sorry about your dad. It\'s so hard. Not sounding good but you and your sisters will give your Dad strength and all the love he needs to navigate the bumps ahead. How old is your Dad? Mine will be 81 in June. Hard, so hard.

Well, happy to hear about you. Hope you journal more and it may help you cope with stressors ahead as well.... Love and hugs to you.

I\'m sorry you have to go through that dental work, but I hope you recover quickly and without too much inconvenience. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled (all 4 at once) no one told me that it was OK to exercise my jaw, so I kept it barely open for a week (it hurt : ( ) so when I went in for the follow up, they asked me to stretch out my jaw so they could get in there. That took several minutes and I doubt it was very good for my incisions. So, don\'t be afraid to open wide while you are recovering. : ) I know, I\'m a nut huh? haha
That is sad news about the shelter, BUT I am so proud of you for doing the right thing and I know how hard that was for you. I think, in the end, it will help the situation. Just give it some time. I think the right thing will win in the end.
I\'m praying for you all and for your dad. That\'s hard. I pray for God\'s best for him and for you.
Get some rest and keep us updated on your recovery, when you can. It\'s so nice to hear from you. hugs xoxo

Hope your oral surgery went well. Must be nice to have that behind you. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hopefully he will go into remission.
And the kitties, you sound really devoted to them, maybe you are God\'s intervention. Maybe the owner will be thinking about your conversation. Take good care of yourself and heal quick!
