Life As I Live It
Well, OK, what to say.
I think I'm doing pretty good. I think I'm taking more steps forward then backward but man oh man those backward steps are tough ones. I'm still so bugged by having to be back on prednisone & methetrexate but I'm accepting the inevitable somewhat more as time goes by. But world here me now, I refuse to take these things one min longer then necessary & I won't settle for less!!! The glitch in this picture is the vasculitis lupus rash has still been going hog wild crazy & up till the last several days both me & hubby thought that neither drugs appeared to be having any effect. That really threw me into a tailspin because the thought of Cyclafosamide chemo drug treatment tried to invade my brain & having been there done that all those yrs back I don't ever want to rewalk that road. Yes it's the mildest form of a chemo drug but you still do experience some stuff while going thru it.
But, here's something a bit diff to this story & I fully realize that anyone reading this that doesn't understand or believe in alternative healing practices will probably just shake their heads. I fully respect your thoughts all of you.
I've been having extra treatments with my reflexologist & at one particular visit she looked at how horrible my rash was & we talked abt maybe diet issues or any other unusual thing that might be coming into play & could not come to any logical conclusion. So she proceeded with my treatment & focused solely on rebalancing my immune system. She really focused in on it & after she told me that at one point when she had her hands on my lower legs she directed her thoughts to my immune system & asked it to speak to her. She told me that she could feel back almost right away that it was saying "I'm being neglected". It didn't really make sense to me right away but the more I thought I realized that in alot of ways I sort of had fallen into a bury my head in the sand trap & reall had let myself get too much out of focus. She felt the rash was my body's way of trying to release negativity so she told me to right away start every day every time something negative would come to mind to write it down & do this till I see her next time which is next Sat. OK, get this, the vasculitis seems to be lessening. I do notice small changes but changes for the good. She's the type of practioner that you can enter the treatment room, not say anything to her & within minutes she can rattle off so many things she's picking up from you & she's usually never wrong. She's almost got a 6th sense intuition somehow.
Yippee for me, I've started a yoga class. I tried my 1st one on Tues a.m. It's called Relax Deeply. It's a yoga class focused on connecting & harmonizing your mind, body & soul. Everyone is over 50 & the first 1/2 hr is done sitting in a chair. It's so gentle yet so energizing & invigorating. I have to admit when I was done & went home I just felt like I had so much lifted from me & just felt overall wonderful. I think I'm going to have to seriously think abt doing it fairly regularily. Of course I still do my latin dance Zumba class. I'll admit I'm addicted but hey it's a good addiction I think.
Those that have read in the not too distant past what I was posting abt the cat shelter issue. Well I guess my phone call to the loser owner must have had some effect because the last couple wks the senior girl Amy has been cleaning the back slowly but surely. She does it in the evening. Too bad she's a "no one can help me, I can't work with others, I have to have total control", etc. etc., because there's so many of us that would help her. But c'est la vie, she wants to carry the burden go for it girl whatever makes you happy. No worry for me.
A note for Rusers here. I've had moments when I'm there that I wonder if you were visiting my shelter, well, I would just love to see the happiness you'd probably feel, the good medicine they seem to be. You'd have abt 100 cats you could spend all the time in the world with. We have a gorgeous long haired calico named Amanda, abt 3 yrs old, quite a lady. We've got a real super quiet laid back big gray & white boy with a condition that has him with a slightly stiff neck, his name is Tucker & his fav pastime is giving your hands and arms a bath. I could go on but I won't. Gonna get boring I'm thinking.
Hubby & I have his appt at the cancer clinic on Fri a.m. but things are pretty OK I think. He paces himself very well & looks after himself overall quite good. My dad has been in pretty good spirits lately which is good to see. I just wish he was a bit more social, had some friends and/or contacts or groups that he could be out & abt more but alas he is who he is. He's got another 2 months I think then he's back to the cancer clinic to see if the hormone therapy injection is treating his cancer.
Well I guess I've babbled enough for this time. I so love you all for taking the time to read my journal. It really does mean alot to me.

How lucky you are to have such a \"sensitive\" practitioner. They are so rare. I once was lucky enough to have one like that long ago. Now, I try to be aware of what I can by myself, which isn\'t nearly as good. LOL
That is Wonderful that you also have a great yoga class!
I am sending my love and prayers to you to deal with your immune system.
I don\'t know what Rusers are, but your shelter sounds divine. I know all the sweet kitties there sure do thrive on the love that you give them.
You are a very dear person that I love being friends with. Thank you for just being you!! You can babble all you want to because I enjoy your journals very much!!!
Now I think your doing all the right things for yourself. I love your practitioner is doing so much good for you. I wish she lived here I would go see her. Yoga and Latin dancing sure will do your body good. Your traveling on a good road my dear. Keep it up.Happy to read all the good news in here. I always wish love and happiness for you my precious friend.

I think it\'s great that your reflexologist is moving you in new directions and it seems like it will greatly help and heal you. God does provide healing from others at times, so I am so hopeful that you keep moving forward with her. Also, kudos on things getting better at the shelter! wooho. good job!
I have to admit, I\'m a bit jealous about your yoga and zumba! it sounds fabulous and I think if you love it, keep on going. I\'m praying for you and hubby and your dad. God is so good all the time God is good. Sometimes we have to choose to see it, but it\'s always there and isn\'t that just ... amazing?!
I think next time we hear from you we will be blown away with good news! : D love ya, m
With everything you\'re going through you sound like you\'re doing very well. You are truly an inspiration my friend. I hope your flare subsides soon, it\'s sad that the meds are almost as bad as the disease, you take good care.
