Life after Facebook and other Things
It has been 2 weeks since leaving Facebook and feel better that I no longer have to go on a site that has lost its flavor. I was a member of Facebook for 10 years and leaving it was hard but necessary. My Facebook page was popular but people where on it for the wrong reasons and didn't care about me. I did inform those that I have a close associate with that I was leaving and have been supportive. The reason I had that account was that it helped me to cope with not being in my child's life and prevented me from becoming more self-destructive in engaging in Drugs, Alcoholism, or worse.
Dealing with the emotional and mentally abusive nature of the Family Court Judge that handled my Child Support case and sent me to the program that I depised as well as the 2 jobs I had taken from that program had taken a toll on me. The instructors at that program was mean and conditioning me to be something that I wasn't and had the sense to see that all they care about was getting money from the City and state of NY. At the time, Facebook had given me something to look forward to and at the same time I lost interest in my personal activities such as Writing, Listening to Music, and my Workouts had become a chore. It was a long 14 years and glad that I am recovering from it.
Not being in my daughter's life hurts because my former Girlfriend had cut off all access from me. No phone calls or emails. I only have my daughter's pictures as a Baby and not any pictures of her as a pre-teen. I have decided to focus on healing from that separation and get my life back together again. I haven't had a relationship in 14 years and want to start dating again. As of now, I am listening to music again and use the Amazon Fire, Walkman, and CD Player. I don't have an excuse. Plus I am going to get my body physically back in shape again; I had lost my mental focus and sharpness and must put negative thoughts out of my head. I will see my daughter again but right now must focus on me because if my daughter was in my life right now, I wouldn't be a good father.
The end of my Facebook page is about me getting my life back on track and an end to a chapter in my life. I had used it as an emotional crutch and no longer need it. Life is passing me by and have to get back on track. I am going to take it one day at a time.

Sounds like a plan. :-) What music do you listen to? I don't listen as much as I used to, but I enjoyed pop and classical. I was in a music group on DS, but it was shut down for some reason. After the first divorce, when my ex got custody of our son, I didn't date for over 10 years. Divorce was easier the second time, because there were no kids and I really wanted out. I have decided that I'm better off single. I wish you better luck than I had.
Thanks Bonusjack. I am glad you understand. I plan on listening again to Pop, Jazz, Soul, and Classical Music. I am picky what I listen to and using the summer to focus on being fit.
