libido
Tonight my husband and I were hoping to have sex. I had been starting to feel pretty good lately, energy levels are up, and I've started a lot of positive changes lately like therapy, meds are in full swing, and I'm trying to get back into yoga. But, I just didn't feel up to sex. It's not like I have low or no libido, just feels like apathetic libido. And of course, as a depressed person, who already has a good amount of guilt and self-loathing, I started to feel even more of this as I thought about how much this disappointed him and how I wasn't meeting his needs, as I know he has a very good sex drive. I talked to him about it and he assured me it was fine and that we could just hang out. But I cannot help but feel disappointed in myself.
-Just another example of how depression creeps in at moments when you least expect it.

Sorry honey that you\'re evening didn\'t turn out as you had hoped...your husband sounds like an awesome, understanding man....you\'re lucky to have him!
I was looking at your meds that you take...the lexapro can cause a reduction in sex drive...i like the way you put it as \"apathetic libido\"...i take lexapro as well and that\'s how my libido feels...i just haven\'t been able to quite
describe it to my husband.
I so understand- the damn depression creeps into any little crack it can find...but we have to keep going and keep fighting!

Thanks for your guys\' support, It\'s nice to know there are other out there experiencing similar libido affects with lexapro. Frankly though, I don\'t care as long as I don\'t have to go back into that dark place that I was before the lexapro.
