Letting go brings peace

What a difference now compared how I used to try and manage and control things in my life and my sons. Letting go and Letting God more and more on a daily basis has helped me so much when faced with more difficult situations. T-Man finally went to the court house to clear his warrant and then visited his PO. He was ordered to attend AA every night until his hearing next week and to get an assessment. In the past I would have reminded him repeatedly (nagged him) to make sure he attended AA. Not anymore. I think he said he has to have a drug test as well. He told me that he told his PO that he hadn't visited her all summer because he stayed at school (lie) so he couldn't see her. In the past I would have said something but now? Not my business. He is also concerned about the assessment because he's afraid that they might know that he had been in treatment. Said he doesn't want to go. I know they won't have that information and that he will lie himself out of that one but hey - not my business. That all said - he is doing better than he ever has since getting involved in this crap but I can imagine how much better he could be sober. Not going to see that anytime soon - I'm sure. There is always hope.
On the advocacy end of it things are looking up for our community forum about the youth drug problem.  I met with the mayor and it was a great meeting. I told her that the only problem I'm having in getting some on board and that is with the clergy. She said she'd help with that. Great!
