Letters
If I could write you a letter with every thought in my head
You wouldn't need to wonder why I sometimes wish for dead.
The ink on the pages screams a melancholic tale,
of the tiny victories and a push to prevail.
I'd show you my heart peeled back with no screen,
and plead you not to think me obscene.
I'd say at the root of it all I have so much passion,
and it burns me so deep I often surrender my ransom.
My strength is my burden, most heavy to bare,
when really it's simple...I just need someone there.
But I struggle with exposing myself to a soul,
worried they'd see all the brittled up coal.
I yearn for the sun to light up this ash.
To stitch up the brokenness that the past has rehashed.
It all seems so trivial, just stupid chemicals in the brain.
Yet I simply can't tell it to just go away.
I wish I was perfect and pretty and whole
and that in giving my all I wasn't slowly pouring out every piece of my soul.
I need something more, though I cant even say what.
Such a predicament I am in,
Signed forever with love...in blood.
