Let the breakdown commence...
The girl is suspended from school. I have to take a meeting on Monday.
As if life is not bad enough already.
My mother is making noises about coming home. She is lucid enough for that - but I don't see her making any progress towards that goal. I visit her every other day and see her in the same chair - she is getting better, which is great, but is she doing the work to get in shape?
I tried raking the leaves yesterday - didn't even get half of the front yard done. I got the end table and video case out of the garage over to my younger daughter's - and was interrupted by a call from the school because the girl wanted to get dismissed early. She knew she was in trouble and was trying to harrass me into allowing her to leave school - and I hung up on her when she started blaming me for her bad behavior.
Later I received a message that she had been suspended.
My younger brother is ill and will probably need taking to the hospital soon. My older brother is homeless and has a temporary place in some friends basement, but they are getting tired of him because of his bad habits. Rather than moving forward with the disability, which he is SO eligible for, he is trying to get a job.
I am worried about all of them, and in Maine I was only really worried about the girl and the older brother, who was living there bothering me.
I cannot stop worrying about all of them because they are here, on the phone with me, telling me all of there misery. The girl wants me to home school her. My younger brother has no health insurance, because they cut him off of Medicaid if he doesn't have more than $500 worth of bills during any given month, so he won't go to the doctor (he has about $75K of bills already from when he got sick, which he has to pay off a little every month). My older brother is simply rediculous.
There is a reason that I moved out of state - none of these people seem to be able to take care of themselves. Even my younger daughter, who has a family and a home, needs "favors" from time to time. She doesn't drive.
I'm split into pieces here and was then - which is why I decided to leave in the first place. I have this overwhelming desire to just take off - get in the car and drive away. Even when I'm alone, late at night, there is no escape from it.
The girl is my primary concern, but I can't get these people to take care of themselves. I've tried to get my younger daughter to get her license for nearly 20 years now, but she has a million excuses not to do so. My older brother I've given up trying to help him, he has deluded himself all of these years and will continue to do so until the end, I'm afraid. He won't listen to me. My younger brother will have to be lead by the nose to get the medical coverage, and since I will have to go down there, I'm going to drag him with me, I think.
As for the girl, she needs more than she has right now, so I will concentrate on making her a spot of her own and trying to give her some happiness, because she is very unhappy right now. For the school, well, I'll try to work something out with them that will be mutually beneficial.
