Let\'s see how we can make it even worse...
Well, the heat in half the house doesn't work anymore, the pipes burst so I have no running water, and it is snowing again. I'm going to have to call a plumber tomorrow, and get him to fix/replace the broken bits and now we have 2 kerosene heaters running in the back part of the house, as well as the wood stove, in order to keep the place a reasonable temperature. Couldn'tgo to church this morning, because somebody has to keep the home fires burning. I've been collecting and melting snow so that I can do the washing up - melting it on the wood stove. I managed to get the dishes done, and we can run the water for a few minutes at a time because of the patch job I did on the broken pipes, but the shower, toilet, and washing machine are in the parts of the plumbing that is totally not working now. The plumber is going to cost a fortune. Also, I've come to the end of the supply of wood that is easily chopped, and have been having to use my circular saw to get the pieces small enough that I can actually cut them down. So, I'll be needing a new circular saw come spring. My brother was in a play in high school called "God's Favorite". It was a story about a man who faced disaster after disaster during his life as a test from God. Times like this remind me of that play...
