Let's see....

Well, I have been extremely busy, so sorry for not keeping up with everyone.  Going to try to remedy that this week, along with many other things.  Work is still busy, but I am starting to get a little caught up.  Seeing a smidgen of a reduction in stress.   What is going out is greater than what is coming in.   Praying that this trend continues.  Will take weeks at this rate to catch up, but catching up is a good thing.  David is done school on Wednesday.  So that stress will be over but then he is home a lot more, so one stress changes to another.  He is going to camp this summer for like 5 weeks and that will help.  I am also going to add him to my YMCA membership.  My friends' 3 boys (all from karate school) all belong to the Y and the oldest drives.  He is 18.  So they can go hang out at the Y or swim at the pool.  (they have 2 indoor pools and 1 outdoor.)  David had 2 bikes but now neither work and this has been a huge source or problems.  David is rough on things and the one, the chain keeps falling off since the spoke thing that turns and holds the chain is wobbly.  The other is just a mess.  Flat tires, no brakes, etc.  Paul and David still arguing.
Kitchen plans are well underway.  Have the cabinets picked out for the most part and the plans are done.  Have appliances picked out (induction range and built in microwave above it.  We are keeping the refrigerator and the dishwasher since they are fairly new.)  Matching colors is a huge problem.  We already have the red & bronze/brown pendant lights for over the island new in the box.  So the one granite countertop is like silver/blue and won't match.  Paul also likes this really dark black color with gold and copper sparkles but again if we go that route, I have to change the color of the sink.  Ugh!  So every choice affects another.  And then we have to pick out the faucet which then has to match the door handles and the swithplates.  And don't even get me started on the floor or backsplash!  I want to redo the floor in the kitchen and breakfast nook to all be the same.  I think it will make the kitchen look bigger and we are destroying the floor in the breakfast room with all the traffic.  Yes, more money but we have it and I want it all done right so that we never have to do it again.  But this is all argument/discussion with Paul every night.  And multiple trips to Home Depot, Lowes and the appliance store.  So again, eating up a lot of time.  But I will be excited when it is all underway.
My little baby niece, Lucia, had her Christening yesterday.  What a beautiful day!  And I got to see some cousins I had not seen in a long time.  We also went to a graduation party afterwards for the same friends that I spoke about earlier from karate.  Their oldest son graduated.    So I  had a great weekend.  I also started reading another book.  Woo Hoo!  I just love to read, especially on my Kindle.  Since my eyes have gotten worse since I have gotten older, it was a strain to read the print in paperback books.  I can increase the font on the Kindle and just read for hours and hours and I love it!  (Another mushy romance novel BTW, but it is great stress relief and escape!)
Watching the Flyers in the Stanley Cup every other night for the last bunch of weeks.  Last nights game was depressing.  Praying that they win tomorrow at home so it goes to game 7.  Again, another thing keeping me busy.  Plus series finale of Lost, final for American Idol, etc.  So glad that the seasons are all over so I don't have to watch so much TV.
Paul has been spending a lot of time gardening.  More flowers now than ever.  We get lots of compliements.  I will have to snap some pictures and attach them.  It keeps him out of the house, busy and happy.  Another of Paul's friends just got laid off.  It is really scary.
Got my Blackberry last week and up and running after much ado, time and effort.  I sent my first text to my dear friend htag.    Finally!  Got my blackberry email up and running as well and downloaded facebook app.  Oh, and I was even able to check the Flyers score from Home Depot the other night!  Cool!  I need a case though.  I stick it in my purse and apparently the buttons accidentally get "pushed" while walking around, which causes the backlight to stay on and drain the battery.  The Sprint store was sold out last week so gotta either order one online or keep checking the Sprint store.  Just gotta keep David's paws off my phone since he likes to text all his friends with it all the time.  Frustrating.  Here I am reading the owners manual and getting tutorials from the guy  at the Sprint store and playing with it to teach myself how to use it.  David picks up the darn thing and starts texting right away!  Kids!
Making this week the week I get my personal situation (eating and exercise) back on track.  May was a very bad month for that and I am just going to put it behind me and start over.

Wow, busy lady. We are redoing the kitchen at our new place, lots of work ~ Good luck, hope it all goes well. So exciting also! Hope David likes the Y, I will sign us up at the YMCA I think when we move, they have camp there for Jimmy also. Can\'t wait to check it out! Oh, I love flowers ~ Great job Paul! Hope things get better with him or he finds another job, is he still looking? I\'m having a tough time finding something new closer to new house. I\'m still working but not moved yet so I\'m ok right now. Frustrating though. House still for sale, had a walk thru Saturday so fingers crossed, no darn offers yet! Those Kindles are cool. Congrats on your phone, I know, kids know so much these days! Ah, love babies. Glad you had a good time at her Christening. Always nice catching up with family! Thinking of you always, sorry I haven\'t been the best on DS either, so much going on. Hope work stays steady for you and not crazy busy! Hope your enjoying the weather ~ raining, hot and icky here, today actually really nice and I\'m here in work, ha ha! U can do it Yvette, hang in there!

Glad to hear you are doing better and feel a bit less stressed! Redoing the kitchen sounds so fun! New phones are so fun, but I still don\'t know how to work mine--haha! Cool apps though. Glad to hear that you are back on track, hopefully we can support each other!

Am I the only one left that does not have a blackberry! LOL Have fun with it!
Remodeling is fun but stressful...Hubb\'s can be a pain during all of this...we are getting new flooring and I am using Psychology 101 on Hubby to get what I want. We do what we have to do to get what we want and deserve.
Glad to hear that work is easing up some.

Ahhh...remodeling the kitchen! I decided when we do our kitchen will keep the cabinets (they are old) but I can refurbish them and done right they will look very retro-chic. I already know I want Lava Red corian countertops, and red and amber glass tile backsplash. I LOVE red! My entire kitchen will be designed around my Kitchen Aid mixer and the amber will tie in nicely with the tangerine walls in the dining room. I know it sounds wild but I have a LOT of red and orange things.
I hope that between camp and the Y David will be challenged and kept busy enough that family time will become a more relaxed time together. Sounds as if Paul is keeping himself busy in the garden as well. Hopefully sitting down to the dinner table at night will be full of good stories and lots of laughter.
Also, I am guessing not working is causing Paul to be super sensitive right now to any stressful moment so creating an inviting, relaxed environment for family time is crucial.
My husband on the other hand is taking this lay off thing in stride. He is behaving as if he retired! He\'s still looking for work but if we could afford it I\'d just tell him to stay home. I could get used to having him keeping things at home ship shape!

I love red too! I love the idea of the red glass in the backsplash! I was thinking putting little red glass diamonds in a matte finish tile, so the shiny red glass really catches your eye. We also bought red glass artsy looking pendant lights for over the kitchen island. we are looking at blackish/brownish granite, but one I saw has like a mauvy pink in it mixed in with the brown and black. OOh, and if we go that route, a solid matte finish black granite sink, undermounted under the countertop!
