LET IT SNOW????
OK. I know that is a dirty word for some and an unfamiliar one to others. Since I no longer have to venture out for work I am prepared to be snowed in but we get an inch here or there and it is gone.
According to weather reports around here this may finally be a bit more substantial. I have heard 3-6 and then as much as 8. It is to be the light fluffy stuff, but with gusty winds and wind chills -10 to -20 below .
My aches and pains are already picking up on something, But I plan on staying put and bundled up. My only problem is my Dr appt for test results is on Wed morning. (I am thinking if I am still snowed in but offices are open I may ask BIL or nephew to take me. We will see what comes of all this.
I am curious to know where others are and what they've had to deal with snow this year so far.

No snow here in California.
Just bad fires in Southern California.
I'm in Northern California so I'm safe. It's been in the 60's.
Stay safe and stay warm.
I'm in CT, warm 39 degrees, another gray day. I miss snow...we used to get clobbered at least a couple times per winter, go ice skating on the river as a kid....now temps as yesterday 43 degrees, last week down to 17 degrees. Way Way back we had the blizzard of 78...you can read about that online, everything was closed by governor.
We are having a cold spell in North Texas area. As in woke up to 23 degrees F. Probably will not get snow or much snow. It won't stick as we haven't had rain which freezes. My joints ache in the really cold weather. When the roads are bad from ice here, which is more typical than snow, everything shuts down. We don't have snow plows here because it doesn't snow every year. We do have those government trucks that put de-icer on the main roads and highway overpasses. It is always so quiet on snow days. I lived in Idaho for a few years and the snow and cold just about slayed me. I had to shovel the snow off my driveway as my husband worked in another city and was gone all week. I hated it. Now I know how to dress for cold, I wear "base layers" meaning long underwear under clothing, and off course warm clothing.
Move up here and you will get about 6 ft of snow. Northern Ontario is battling that now. Subzero weather too. But we still go out. Toronto has very little snow now but bitterly cold weather. Polar Vortex which we are happily sharing with the States. Still going out. hehehe
Same as Atpeace. I just live a few hours NE of Toronto. Central Ontario. It is a normal Canadian Winter compared to last season (mild & hardly any snow). Bundle up in layers!!! Owners got someone to shovel driveway & walk ways! Yay!! I only shovel my patio out back & the entrance to fenced back yard.
Brooke, so happy that you are not battling that snow shoveling. yes.
we had 5 inches that has turned to ice for 14days then melted some then rain and back t.o freezing cold again....it is 24 .on my0 thermometer in living room clock....
To all you Canadian ladies.... God bless ya. Looking2bhappy is also up there and from chatting before with her did I learn of your terribly frigid temps and wind chills and tons of snow. I told her I could never survive it.
Like hasty, I now have a built in weather predictor that I can feel deep in the old arthritic bones when we have a VERY COLD spell. I did not think Texas got snow or even very cold. Mlro I always figured Ct was snowed in weather all winter. I'm learning from all of you.
Bill we usually get hit like you... snow, rain, freeze.... just dangerous and nasty. That is the worst.
It's after 4"30pm here in PA now. At last peek out the windows, snow is very lightly falling right now and it looks as though we've gotten just 3 or 4 inches so far. I doubt we will see the 6= 8, but there are hours to go. I don't look forward to the blustery winds, drifting and sub zero wind chills. (I suspect the next few days I will need an oit can just to move.
Stay safe everybody.
As you said, we get lots of snow up here so you have to learn to enjoy winter activities. Today however, it is a stay home and bundle up day. We are currently dealing with -40 c, feels like -52 c (-40F/-60F). I always say I don’t mind the winter but this is a bit too much. We don’t normally travel to warmer areas in the winter but this year we are going to Florida to see hubby’s sister and I am looking forward to being warmer lol.
Stay warm and stay safe wherever you may be.
Kim you will be shell shocked in FLA. It will probably be like a summer day for you guys. enjoy that visit and wave as you fly over my place to get there. lol
In PA we wound up with about 6 inches and I was pleasantly surprised that my nephew came after midnight and dug me out. (and I didn't even ask)
wow that is amazing he came out after midnight to dig you out.....great Nephew...give him good Christmas cookies....LOL
I was awake and actually saw someone outside doing it. (I thought it was my BIL or him) After I messged them both in the morning , he admitted it was him. He said he had gotten done digging out at his place after 10 pm and decided to take a short drive to check how roads were , He stopped and figured he'd surprise me. So yes he is quite the good kid . I already promised him a dinner of his choice. lol and his kids want to do more cutouts so theres his cookies. lol
